The dates for the start of flight tests of the second sample of the heavy attack drone "Hunter" have been announced
The second copy of the heavy shock drone "Hunter", which received a flat engine nozzle, is being prepared for flight tests. According to a source in the aircraft industry, a prototype will join the test program.
The start of flight tests of the second sample of the Okhotnik UAV, which was rolled out at the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant in December last year, is scheduled for July. These are preliminary dates, small transfers are possible, it all depends on the implementation of the ground test program. There are no other details on the tests of the "Hunter" yet.
- leads RIA News source words.
The roll-out of the second sample of the Okhotnik heavy attack drone took place at the end of last year, this instance received a flat engine nozzle, which significantly reduces the radar visibility of the vehicle. The flat nozzle dissipates the jet stream, and its design feature is that its internal parts cover the hot parts of the engine. "Okhotnik" was the first to receive a flat nozzle, none of the Russian fighters now have this.
Another difference between the second sample of the "Hunter" and the first one is that it is, in fact, a pre-production model, created taking into account the tests of the first UAV sample. Later, the third and fourth samples will join the tests, so they will actually correspond to the serial version of the UAV.
As previously reported in the Russian military-industrial commission, purchases of the Okhotnik UAV are included in the state armaments program for 2024-2033.
