Russia will transfer anti-aircraft systems and fighter jets to Belarus for exercises
Russia and Belarus will hold joint military exercises "Allied Resolve-2022". The maneuvers will take place on Belarusian territory in the second decade of February. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In February of this year, Belarus will test the response forces of the Union State. It will be carried out in two stages, the first of which will be preparatory, and the second - the main one. At the first stage, which will last until February 9, the redeployment of forces and means and the creation of a group of troops will be carried out. Russia will deploy two divisions of S-400 air defense systems, a division of Pantsir-S air defense missile systems and 12 Su-35 multipurpose fighters to the territory of Belarus.
According to Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin, at this stage Russia and Belarus will organize the protection of the state border of the Union State, including within the framework of a unified air defense system, its readiness to carry out tasks to cover important objects on the territory of the republic will be checked.
At the second stage, which will last from February 10 to February 20, joint exercises "Allied Resolve-2022" will be held at the training grounds of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense. The main task of the maneuvers is to practice repulsing external aggression and fighting militants. Five polygons and four military airfields will be involved.
The number of forces involved in the exercises has not yet been disclosed, but anticipating statements from NATO about the non-admission of Western observers to the exercises, the Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that the number of participants in the maneuvers and the number of main weapons systems do not exceed the parameters of the Vienna Document 2011, which are subject to notification.
