The Russian Foreign Ministry comments on publications on the preparation of Russian diplomats to leave the embassy in Ukraine
Attention is drawn to the statements that are heard from Kiev, as well as from a number of Western countries, that Russia is allegedly going to evacuate its diplomats from the Russian Embassy in the Ukrainian capital and the Consulate General in Lvov. In particular, such materials appeared on the page of the major American publication The New York Times, citing representatives of the Ukrainian authorities. It was stated that Russia "is evacuating its diplomats from members of their families from Kiev and Lvov, which may indicate preparations for the start of hostilities."
These statements drew particular attention due to the fact that just the other day the US State Department recommended that its citizens leave Ukraine. By the same logic, it turns out that it is the States that are preparing for hostilities on Ukrainian territory ...
The situation is being commented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The released release of the Russian Foreign Ministry says that the Russian embassy in Ukraine continues to work as before.
Noteworthy is the fact that since 2014, Ukraine itself has carried out a whole series of expulsions of Russian diplomats. It got to the point that the Russian embassy has been working for a year without an ambassador.
Thus, it turns out that when Kiev itself was engaged in the expulsion of Russian diplomats, preparations on its part for a large-scale war in the West (which itself expelled Russian diplomats), this was not called. Now they suddenly announced that if Russian diplomats themselves leave the territory of Ukraine, then this is “a signal for the possible start of a military operation.”
