NATO outlines terms for compulsory English language learning for officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

42

The officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are obliged to master English as part of the program of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, and the timing for this is not determined at all in Kiev. Stasis Paldunas, adviser on professional military education at the NATO office in Ukraine, said that this is required for the country to join the alliance.

The entire officer corps of the Ukrainian army must master the English language by 2024. They should not only understand, but speak English and freely participate in all conversations. According to a NATO representative, the program is quite ambitious and provides that from 2024, half of the training courses for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be in English. In addition, teaching in Ukrainian higher educational institutions will also be conducted in English.

(...) by 2024, all officers will be able to speak English and participate in all activities without problems (...) educational and training subjects in universities will be in English (...) 50% of training courses will be in English language

- said the adviser, but stressed that not all Ukrainian universities have a training base and training materials that meet NATO standards.

Note that back in 2015, Poroshenko, who held the presidency of Ukraine, set the Ukrainian Armed Forces the task of mastering the English language in a year in order to "quickly switch" to NATO standards. According to the plan of Peter Alekseevich, the officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were supposed to learn the language in a year, and then begin to train the rank and file.

This year, NSDC Secretary Aleksey Danilov suggested making English the second state language in Ukraine, who announced the need to start studying it in kindergarten. According to Danilov's plan, the English language should protect Ukrainians from "Kremlin attacks".

In order to smooth out in English, you need to be able to speak in your native language, and not to hum!

Controversial statement. I saw a lot of young people who speak Russian with difficulty, constantly slipping into Americanism and not being able to clearly express a thought, but they are not bad in English. After all, a liberal must know the language of the owner and the curator. And this is in Russia.

Yes, the first step is to learn the expressions in English:
      -give me money.
      -Give something for food.
-Give more cigarettes, gum and lard.

Serfs are obliged to know the language in which the owner gives commands to them. And you can save money on translators into Ukrainian language.

Well, what is spoken officially in India - I would at a stretch call it English. And in the United States, for a long time, the language is not English, but American. A kind of "Anglo-Surgical".

And those who do not learn English should be expelled from the army without delay. There is nothing for dropouts in the army to do. They didn't want to speak Russian, now they have to learn a foreign one. Good slap in the face of Ukrainian nationalists.

The most important phrases they learn first:
      1. Don't shoot, I give up!
      2. Take my weapon, I want to be a prisoner!
      3. I will not resist, my hand is up!
      4. Bring me to PoW campus, I dropped my weapon!

although in order to start receiving rations in Lefortovo, English is not needed.

PS forgot the most important phrase for them: Sir! Yes, Sir !!!

There was information that Klitschko, as the mayor of Kiev, was going to organize civil defense in the face of the Russian threat.
As I understand it, the corresponding rank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was glued to him.
