Ukrainian radicals criticized the statement of the mayor of Poltava that brother goes against brother in Donbass
In Ukraine, he quotes the mayor (head) of the city of Poltava, Alexander Mamai, about the armed conflict in Donbass. This statement caused different assessments.
Alexander Mamai, commenting on the situation in Donbass, expressed regret that "there brother goes against brother." As the mayor of Poltava noted, this is understandable even from communication with local residents.
At the same time, the Poltava mayor added that, by and large, today there is a "war of two superpowers" in Donbass. Alexander Mamay:
Ukrainian radicals, criticizing the statement of the Poltava mayor, began to assert that no "fratricidal war" is being waged in Donbass. The argument is roughly the following: whoever opposes Kiev cannot be considered a brother.
Ukrainians with less clouded radical views of their heads note that Alexander Mamai is generally right, pointing out that it is the confrontation between the superpowers that is pouring out not only in the conflict in Donbass, but in what is happening throughout Ukraine. It is noted that Ukraine itself has become a "hostage of this confrontation", which those who are currently at the helm, ruling the country, are also trying to use in their political interests.
Commenting on the statements of the mayor of Poltava, Ukrainian radicals said that “Mamai had to be lustrated back in 2014, since he was a member of Yanukovych’s party” (meaning the Party of Regions).
Mamai's supporters, commenting on the statements of the radicals, point out that if the residents of Donbass are not considered brothers, then how can one generally talk about the reintegration of Donbass into Ukraine.
