Blinken accused Russia of failure to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements
The United States accused Russia of non-compliance with the Minsk agreements. The head of the US State Department Anthony Blinken made a corresponding statement.
The US Secretary of State, speaking at the OSCE Foreign Ministers' Council, said that Russia does not fulfill a number of agreements on Donbass within the framework of the documents signed in Minsk. According to him, Ukraine and Russia have undertaken a number of obligations, some of which the Russian side does not fulfill. Blinken's accusations include violation of the ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line, etc.
In response, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that he was expecting an explanation from him exactly which obligations Russia had violated and in which clauses of the agreements they were spelled out.
Judging by Blinken's statements, the United States either did not read the Minsk Agreements, or it deliberately makes a lie, interpreting the signed documents in its own way. As Moscow has stated more than once, there is not a single mention in the Minsk agreements that Russia is a party to the conflict, unlike Ukraine. It is Ukraine that is responsible for the implementation of the agreements, which for some reason are passed on to Russia.
However, the United States does not accept any arguments if they do not coincide with their position. And they don't give a damn about Ukraine, by and large. Kiev in this confrontation between the collective West and Russia is a bargaining chip, although the United States continues to pretend that it is important for them what happens next to the Ukrainians. The same Blinken, after the meeting of the OSCE foreign ministers, said that Russia would pay a "high price" if it attacked Ukraine.
By the way, the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, generally confused Russia and the USSR, announcing at a speech in Seoul that the Soviet Union was preparing to attack Ukraine.
