Theft of socialist property and confession
Theft, that is, secret theft of someone else's property, committed:
a) by a group of persons by prior agreement;
b) with illegal entry into the premises or other storage, -
is punished with a fine ... or compulsory labor ... or correctional labor for up to two years, or imprisonment for up to five years.
I confess that I secretly stole socialist property, as part of a group of persons, by prior conspiracy, with illegal entry into the premises. This property was a faience urinal in the building under construction of the training and flight department (ULO).
And now - the circumstances.
Our cadet department was responsible in the barracks for the toilet, order, cleanliness and integrity of the equipment. Of the equipment at the facility entrusted to us were: 5 earthenware urinals, 8 toilet cubicles with floor-standing toilets of the "point" type, 2 windows, 1 door. This, I'm not afraid of high words, a strategic object, was mercilessly exploited by hundreds of cadets of our company.
Day-to-day order was maintained at the facility, and on Saturdays, our squad part of the force performed general cleaning of the toilet using brute cadet force and various cleaning products such as "hydrochloric acid" purchased, among other things, on a modest cadet salary.
At the morning formation, the company foreman, a cadet like us, who had just come to the school from the army, reported the unpleasant news - as a result of illiterate operation, the urinal in the toilet was out of order. No investigation will be carried out, but our department, as the one in charge of the toilet, must immediately begin remedying the problem. And so that our department could fully concentrate on the fastest fulfillment of this urgent task, the foreman decided to reduce the number of layoffs to us to "zero", well, so that nothing would distract us from solving the task at hand.
After building, we went to see the size of the destruction. For some unknown reason, the urinal was split in half. I don’t know what to do with it for this, but the fact was obvious - the urinal turned out to be unsuitable for further use.
We cannot say that we often went on leave, well, once every two weeks, if there were no flights, but the very fact of the prohibition of dismissals made us nervous. And especially this fact upset the only married cadet of the department - "Vasisualiy Lokhankin".
No, in ordinary life no one called him that, it was too long, it was, so to speak, his full name, usually they called him simply - "Vaska" or "Lokhankin". It should be noted that due to the strange peculiarity of the assignment of nicknames, his real name and surname were far from the nickname, and his mother called him in his homely way - Sergei.
Vaska was a “local” cadet, for some reason he got married early, his parents and wife lived in the city, so our cadet collective, compassionate about this young husband, put him on leave forever, out of line, every Saturday and Sunday. Vaska was even allowed not to come to the barracks on Saturday evening, which he constantly used, which resulted in the birth of a son.
In general, only Vaska and a few overly disciplined cadets, whom some kind of "belief in the Charter" did not allow to go AWOL, was very upset about the prohibition of dismissals.
Study and service went on as usual, we did not bother with the repair of the toilet, and we did not have any opportunities, and "AWOL" instead of layoffs even somewhat revived our existence. Only Vaska, separated from his family, whined all the time, despite the fact that the prohibition of dismissals gave him an excellent opportunity to take a break from his family.
Criminal collusion
And this Vaska, taking advantage of our unhealthy urge to violate any military discipline, incited my brother and me to enter into a criminal conspiracy to steal a urinal.
Vaska's mother worked as a foreman at the construction site of our new ULO, and when Lokhankin told her about the hardships that had arisen, her mother proposed a criminal plan in which we were assigned the role of plunders of socialist property, and my mother, using her official position, had to prepare us for theft.
The plan was as follows: the mother, leaving in the evening from the workplace, that is, from the ULO under construction, leaves the window in the toilet of the new building ajar, where brand new urinals were screwed to the wall in orderly rows. At night, taking advantage of the fact that the outfit for the new ULO is shamelessly sleeping, we penetrate through this window into the new building, “hit” the urinal and deliver it to the barracks.
The theft operation was planned for the coming night.
The main attention was focused on agreeing on the place of penetration, because there were dozens of these windows, and it was necessary to get into the slightly open window of the toilet, on the side opposite to the location of the sleeping outfit. My brother and I, who had become proficient in "AWOL", developed a route for movement around the school, which allowed us not to fall into the hands of patrols, and measures to camouflage a white urinal, which was clearly visible at night. For this, they took a raincoat-tent in the storeroom to wrap up the stolen goods.
Despite Vaska's nagging, who never went AWOL at night, the operation went according to plan, surprisingly enough, but the window that was negotiated turned out to be open, the urinal was loosened in advance by the mother of the criminal Lokhankin, and we had no difficulty unscrew the urinal, pull it out through the window and secretly deliver it to the company location.
Building on our success, we screwed the urinal into our toilet at night, and the foreman, who visited the site early in the morning, was pleasantly surprised. He did not make "round eyes", torture the orderly about who left the barracks at night and with what they returned, and at the formation he informed our squad that the terrible penance about dismissal had been removed from us.
So, going towards Lokhankin's family happiness, my brother and I stepped on the slippery path of stealing socialist property.
