Ukrainian edition: Kiev threatens Moscow with non-existent missiles
Arestovich threatened to send Ukrainian missiles to the Russian capital. This threat came in response to a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the deployment of NATO missiles near Kharkov and possible actions by Russia to eliminate this threat. However, apart from words, there is nothing to threaten Ukraine with, in essence Kiev has threatened Moscow with non-existent missiles.
Ukraine has no missiles capable of reaching the Russian capital, the newspaper writes. It is possible that they will appear in the future, since the missile program exists, developments in this area have been underway since the presidency of Petro Poroshenko.
Today, Ukraine is developing the Sapsan or Thunder missile system with a range of up to 480 km. The program is being closed and then resumed, there is no clarity, except for loud statements, yet. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announces plans to sign a contract for the creation of a prototype, while at parades they show a tractor with a dummy rocket.
In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have an analogue of the "Grad" complex "Alder" with a range of 70 to 120 km, the anti-ship missile "Neptune", which is an analogue of the Soviet Kh-35, also plan to adopt the "Typhoon-1" missile, which is also an analogue of the MLRS "Grad".
None of these missiles will reach the Russian capital, and they exist either in the project or in very limited quantities. One could talk about any Ukrainian developments, but funds are not allocated for them; instead, foreign missiles, such as British ones, are purchased.
However, they will not reach Moscow either, the publication sums up.
