Augmented reality glasses are integrated into the "Ratnik" combat equipment
Russian infantrymen will soon receive augmented reality glasses that allow them to receive information from external sources directly onto the glazing. The novelty was developed by specialists from the Novosibirsk Instrument Making Plant.
According to a source in the military-industrial complex referred to by RIA News, the new glasses will be integrated into the Ratnik equipment, which will allow infantrymen to receive information directly on the glazing, without being distracted by the use of other devices and devices. They will display information from the command, an electronic sight, video images from drones etc.
It is specified that the goggles can be equipped with a night vision system and a thermal imager. At the same time, they have a degree of protection similar to the goggles already included in the "Warrior" equipment. The only thing that scares a little is the estimated cost of one set of augmented reality glasses. According to the source, one set will cost the military more than half a million rubles. However, with the start of serial production, the cost should decrease significantly.
Combat equipment "Ratnik" is already being supplied to the troops. The kit includes 14 elements from five integrated systems: defeat, protection, control, life support and energy supply. The elements can change depending on the position of the soldier and the tasks he performs. This combination ensures the maximum efficiency of the soldier and his protection in combat conditions.
