Russia has developed a new all-weather drone for rescuers

Russia has developed a new all-weather drone capable of splashdown and takeoff from the water surface. developer drone-Rescuer Seadrone is a Russian company "Shooting from the air".

The new drone is positioned as a deck-based rescue drone, capable of operating in a wide temperature range of temperatures without loss of efficiency, not afraid of moisture, capable of splashing down and taking off from the water surface. According to the press service of the developer company, the drone was tested in arctic conditions, as well as in the desert.

The Seadrone has a fully sealed hull that allows short-term submersion under water to a depth of one meter and operation in difficult weather conditions, including the open sea. The drone runs on both batteries and a gasoline engine. Stay in the air up to 4 hours, payload - 5 kg. Empty weight - 15,5 kg. Able to work effectively at temperatures from -40 to +55 degrees Celsius. Control mode: manual, semi-automatic and automatic with following a given route.

To perform work in the Arctic latitudes, as well as in Africa and the Middle East, the drone is equipped with a fully sealed rotor group

A good unit for search and rescue, it would only increase the time spent in the air.

A regular quadcopter with improved features ... nothing special. what
We need to aim for more ... and these are all children's toys.

Not all quadcopters land on water.

It would be nice to add to the quadcopter the ability to rescue a drowning person from the water in various ways ... by throwing, for example, an inflatable boat or a lifebuoy ... and if you increase the carrying capacity, you can even make a life capsule in it ...
such a device splashed down from a drowning man and took it and quickly to the doctors to warm up.
I think there is a future for such devices.

.. and these are all children's toys.

Buy a children's toy in the store with a flight time of at least 1 hour, let's laugh at the place
      Airborne up to 4 hours

I would just equip search engines like this, such as the PSO "Liza Alert", but I still need to clarify the location on the electronic map and the thermal imager as standard

In the store, these are not sold to mere mortals ... for fear that they will be used by terrorists and criminals. hi... big restrictions and permits are required from supervisors.

Nothing like this. Agricultural drones are designed for several hours of flight and reagent tanks have tens of liters. They stand, of course, like a new tractor, but I have not heard of any restrictions on the sale of such equipment, well, perhaps somewhere in the DPRK.

Any industrial / farm drone with a gasoline or hydrogen engine, they are just very expensive to buy for the sake of games, but quite affordable, you can build one yourself. The hydrogen cell can be ordered online: https://www.unmannedsystemstechnology.com/category/supplier-directory/propulsion-power/fuel-cell-systems/
And the engines, the CPU, the camera and the remote control in general can be bought on Aliexpress.

Well, if on this concept, (landing and takeoff from the water), yes, to make a military reconnaissance drone with a range of about 150 km and being in the air for 8-12 hours, capable of operating in the optoelectronic and infrared spectrum and with the possibility of target designation, then none of our MRK / corvette / frigate would not mind. The concept itself is reasonable.

A strange solution is a search drone with one camera. Why not install three of them with a 270-degree view? Compared to a helicopter, a drone with one camera will have an order of magnitude narrower search bar.
I wonder if this device has a search mode in a given square and is it capable of changing the tack frequency depending on the flight altitude. After all, the flight altitude of such a device is a variable of visibility in the optical range.
If these functions are implemented - the aircraft may be of interest, if not - it cannot be claimed that this is a drone for search.

Tack change - programmed before departure is easy, just like the entire route. Of the payload, only an autonomous float-radio beacon is possible, I think .. - that is, I found a boat (a person, a life raft or a group of people in distress) - flew up to them, dropped a radio beacon to them (as an option - with a miniature transceiver, when the drone itself works as a repeater - a signal amplifier for communication with the victims) .. - and then work for rescuers on serious means .. - by the radio beacon we went to the goal and solved the necessary tasks .. and three cameras instead of one - that means the operator must be not one, but at least two .. one is piloting, the other is looking for pictures ..

Dixon, did you hold this buoy in your hands? The Cospass-Sarsat buoy weighs more than 5 kilos, and its dimensions are quite normal, so that it can be seen on a wave from one and a half kilometers. As for the easy change of tacks, it's not about an elementary turn, but about combing a given square at a specified height, taking into account the width of the view of this one-eyed: here is no longer a simple preliminary laying, but an automatic calculation of the area coverage, which I would like to see from the programmable iron at 21 century.

No, I didn't hold it in my hands .. But we're talking about the development of equipment and the use of the product that was presented to us here? Why don't the developers team up with someone and create hanging equipment for their ashtray? So, there are already several models of floating quadrocopters .. and there are even diving ones .. And if you remember about folk craftsmen, then tape two plastic bottles to the drone's paws so that it does not drown on the move when splashing down - you don't need a lot of mind .. There are also "factory" plastic balls - for installation on the chassis of quadcopters .. The issue is water resistance and cooling of motors and the motherboard itself ..

Here I have another question for the developers: what is the purpose of putting it on the water at all? request

That's a good question ..)) If weather conditions or some other factors do not allow returning the drone to the deck, why let it fly at all? The only option - with a large wave, if you fly low - can overwhelm .. and then, of course, it will be in the water ... but it will not drown, but will flop .. and it can, in theory, be lifted into the air again, until a new wave of it poke up ..)) I had to fly very low on a quadrocopter over the ocean, sometimes literally 40-50 cm .. but this is in calm weather, and then only with the nose to the wave, so that it was possible to go up sharply .. In case of strong excitement, the drone throws splashes from the ridges and there is a chance to lose it ..

If the drone is for Russia, then the name probably could also be invented in Russian?

The best drone is this Russian soldier, armed with a Kalashnikov assault rifle and provided with dry rations ..

Saw this UAV at the booth at NEVA 2021 last week. I talked to the developers. They position UAVs, and a few smaller products, as a universal assistant when working on the water and at the boundaries of environments.
It can be useful both to fish inspectors, biologists, fishing companies and rescuers, and in fact to border guards (smaller products, also with high protection up to IP68). Convenience is that it is easier to land on the water and pick up in a boat or motorboat than to dodge branches and bushes on the shore and look for a clearing so as not to damage.
The load can be practically any, cameras, topographic survey devices or gas analyzers for detecting leaks of oil products.
Another use case, proposed by the developers, is the use of data from UAVs powered by a wire at altitudes up to 100 meters to organize perimeter control at the parking lot.
In general, an interesting and useful drone.

What is the achievement? The fact that an ordinary copter was doused with plastic? But in general an interesting device. On the NSR, look for openings and thin ice in winter.
