BMP-3: domestic armored vehicles with a vast geography
12
Next year marks the 35th anniversary of the operation of one of the "workhorses" of the Russian (and at first - the Soviet) army - the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle. The "troika" produced by Kurganmashzavod began its long career in the army in 1987. During this time, the armored vehicle managed to take part in a variety of military conflicts, and in its most diverse modifications.
An important feature of the BMP-3 is that it is in service not only with the Russian army, but also with a number of countries that can hardly be called military allies of the Russian Federation. For example, the BMP-3 at one time was in service with the troops of the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, Indonesia.
There are such infantry fighting vehicles in Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Algeria and Venezuela. Such a wide geography of the BMP-3 application speaks to how reliable this Russian military equipment is and how much it meets the needs of the armies of various countries of the world, including the belligerents.
At one time, the Americans also decided to get a copy of the BMP-3 in Ukraine in order to study in detail the technological solutions that were implemented when creating an armored vehicle.
Details about the BMP-3 are presented in the story of the Zvezda shopping center in the release of the Military Acceptance program - including how these domestically developed armored vehicles are created and tested:
