Pro-Turkish militants attacked two zones of Kurdish control in northern Syria at once
The pro-Turkish forces continue to try to expand their zone of control in the north of the Syrian Arab Republic. Earlier it was reported that pro-Turkish militants, with the support of artillery of the Turkish Armed Forces, attempted to advance in the Ain Issa and Tel Tamr regions in the Raqqa province. Kurdish resistance forces, having entered the battle, were able to stop this advance.
Against this background, there was a complication of the situation in another Syrian province - Aleppo. There, Ankara-controlled militants attacked northwest of Manbij. The positions of the Kurdish armed formations were fired from the territory in which the Turkish troops are located. In fact, this is a buffer zone that Turkey has created on the Syrian side near its border.
The strikes were delivered in the area of the settlements of Umm Adassa and Mahsanli.
According to the latest information, an artillery barrage was first carried out, and then several detachments of pro-Turkish militants tried to advance in the direction of Manbij, to the important M4 highway that connects the northeastern regions of Syria with Aleppo and the Mediterranean coast.
At the same time, pro-Turkish armed formations attacked another zone of Kurdish control - to the west of the city of Tal Rifat. The areas of the settlements of Sokhaneke and Mayasa were subjected to shelling.
This is the greatest activity (an attack on two zones of Kurdish control at once) by pro-Turkish militants in northern Syria in recent months.
Recall that this is happening against the backdrop of Erdogan's call to the United States to withdraw American troops from Syria.
