Turkish Coast Guard announced two incidents with Russian bulk carriers in the Bosphorus since the beginning of the day
There are reports from Turkey about the incident in the Bosphorus. It is reported that for unknown reasons, a collision of two ships occurred in this waterway. The information is confirmed by the Turkish Coast Guard.
According to the press service of the Turkish Coast Guard, the collision was allowed by dry cargo ships Rusich-10 and Tahsim Imamoglu. The first is Russian, the second is Turkish.
It is reported that as a result of the collision of two dry cargo ships, no casualties have been identified. According to the latest information, both vessels were damaged. At the same time, the damage allows both dry cargo ships to sail. According to other sources, several tugs were sent to the site of the collision.
If you believe the Turkish Coast Guard, then this is the second incident in the Bosphorus with the participation of Russian dry cargo ships since the beginning of the day. Earlier it was announced that the vessel "Volzhsky-40", which has an impressive length of about 140 m at the exit from the strait collided with a Turkish fishing schooner. As a result, both vessels were damaged, as a result of which they had to be towed to one of the berths to determine the parameters of future repairs.
The identity of the culprit in the collision is not reported (neither in the first nor in the second case).
It should be noted that today the Bosphorus is one of the busiest maritime arteries in the world. Every day hundreds of different ships and vessels pass through the strait in both directions.
Erdogan is promoting the Istanbul Canal as an alternative, which should pass north of the Bosphorus.
