Former Afghan army officer cites as rumors claims that Masud's militia commanders fled to Tajikistan
Afghan sources of information published materials referring to the Taliban (* a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation), which states that the command of the so-called Front of the Afghan National Resistance, including Massoud himself and a field commander named Registani, left Afghanistan. The reports say that representatives of the commanders of the militia of Ahmad Masud are no longer in Panjshir, but, having left it, fled to Tajikistan. At the same time, no data is provided on what type of transport they could use to cross the Afghan-Tajik border, given that all checkpoints on the Afghan side are under the control of the Taliban *.
A former Afghan army officer who had previously joined the militia of Ahmad Zia Masud in the Panjshir Valley commented on reports from individual Afghan resources referring to statements by the Taliban *. The officer calls himself Sarfaraz and actually acts as the head of the FANR press service.
According to a former Afghan officer, claims that senior commanders of the Afghan National Resistance Front (Masud's troops) have moved from Panjshir to Tajikistan are untrue. Sarfaraz claims that "military planning and preparation of the militia for the winter continues."
Former Afghan officer:
At the same time, other Afghan sources indicate that Massoud's calls to Western countries to provide financial and military-technical assistance have remained unanswered (at the moment). Without such assistance, it will be almost impossible to fight in the mountains in the winter against superior enemy forces, even if FANR loses key targets, including the Salang Pass.
Experts note that without possession of the Salang Pass, Masud's militia will, at best, be forced to postpone operations against the Taliban until spring, at worst, it will simply begin to "dissolve" with an unwillingness to while away the winter in mountain caves without supplies and a clear perspective.
