"Nudol" or not "Nudol": tests of a new domestic anti-missile missile were carried out at the Sary-Shagan test site
Russia is improving its anti-missile capabilities. With the development of missile technologies for potential adversaries, this is an urgent task.
New tests of the anti-missile were carried out at the Sary-Shagan test site, located in the Republic of Kazakhstan and operated by the Russian Armed Forces - primarily as a test site.
Major General Sergei Grabchuk, commander of the 1st Army's Air Defense and Missile Defense Army, Russian Aerospace Forces, notes that the new anti-missile missile has successfully confirmed its characteristics during the tests. The general emphasized that the target was hit by the anti-missile missile with a given accuracy.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation emphasizes that LCI (flight design tests) are recognized as successfully completed in the case when 10 launches with a successful ending are carried out. After that, the interceptor missile can be adopted by the RF Armed Forces.
Earlier, there was information that the air defense-missile defense system of the capital region of Russia will be strengthened with new anti-missile systems. Over time, with the expansion of production, similar anti-missile missiles will cover other territories of Russia, primarily large industrial centers and other important facilities of the country, including large agglomerations.
To date, it is in Russia's interests to put into service anti-atmospheric intercept missiles. This will increase the level of security. As a result, the Nudoli variant may become such a complex. It should be noted that earlier a number of experts tried to connect the test launches at Sary-Shagan with the development of the Nudol complex. However, there is no official confirmation of this kind of connection at the moment.
Judging by the footage, the anti-missile could be fired from an underground mine:
