The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on the issue of "possible" supplies of missile defense systems "Iron Dome" from the United States
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry commented on history with statements about Kiev's "intentions" to receive Israeli-made anti-missile defense systems from the United States. As reported by "Voennoye Obozreniye", Ukraine was going to receive from the United States the "Iron Dome" missile defense systems, which the Americans could not effectively integrate into their own air defense-missile defense system.
According to Dmitry Kuleba, head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, during President Zelensky's visit to the United States, the question was really raised of “how Washington could help Ukraine strengthen its air defense and missile defense”.
Kuleba:
Against this background, information confusion reigns in the States themselves. On the one hand, Congress says they are making an amendment to the military budget for 2022. And this amendment, introduced by Congressman Scott Franklin, has allegedly already received support from both Republicans and Democrats. And supposedly on the basis of this amendment it will be possible to provide Ukraine with "components of the Iron Dome missile defense system."
And on the eve of the White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that she had no information that the United States is going to supply Ukraine with any anti-aircraft missile systems and their components, including an Israeli-made Iron Dome.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry declares that they intend to receive from the United States "components of the Iron Dome" system in order to defend against "Russian aggression." Experts believe that with the possible delivery of such systems, their operators will in any case be foreign military. The USA may well use this option to try to somehow "legitimize" the presence of its troops in Ukraine, including in the Donbass, where, as the Ukrainian military previously stated, foreign-made air defense systems can be supplied.
