Ukrainian Foreign Minister: We no longer believe Western promises
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine made a loud statement today. Dmitry Kuleba allowed himself an outspoken attack on Western partners. According to the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the experience of interaction with the United States and European countries "shows that the West cannot be relied upon."
Dmitry Kuleba, who, as they say in Ukraine itself, "burst":
Ukraine has learned its lessons. They showed that the promises of the West tend not to be fulfilled. Therefore, we no longer believe Western promises.
It is noteworthy that Kuleba made this statement in an interview with the major British publication The Independent.
Kuleba:
We need to rely only on ourselves: on our troops, on diplomacy, on our people.
At the same time, Kuleba said that Ukraine should adopt the Israeli experience in this regard - the experience of "how to remain a flexible military state."
Only in this way, according to Kuleba, Ukraine can survive.
It should be added that the Ukrainian authorities in recent years have literally called on the West to accept the country into the EU and NATO.
In this regard, the recent statement of the President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid can be called a bucket of cold water for Kiev, who pointed out that Ukraine is “several light years away” before it meets EU standards. According to her, over the past 5 years (while she is in the office of President of Estonia) Ukraine has hardly made any progress in meeting the Copenhagen criteria. These criteria are the main ones for checking a candidate country for compliance with European standards.
