Retired SBU general announced the presence of the Kremlin's "plan" to "invade" Ukraine
Joint strategic exercises between Russia and Belarus are not directed against Ukraine, Kiev has nothing to fear from the maneuvers that have begun. However, the Kremlin is not abandoning its "Novorossiya" plan and the invasion of the Russian army will take place, but later. This statement was made by the retired general of the SBU Vasily Vovk.
According to the general, who is increasingly appearing on Ukrainian television as a security expert, Russia will not currently implement any measures to conquer the territory of Ukraine. Therefore, you should not be afraid of the Zapad-2021 exercises. Also, the rearmament of Belarus for $ 1 billion has nothing to do with Ukraine. All of this is directed against NATO.
However, there is no need to relax, Vovk stressed, since Russia has a "Kremlin plan" to conquer part of Ukraine within the framework of the Novorossiya project, and the "invasion" will take place two years later, if there are no shifts in Donbass.
According to the retired general, Russia is targeting eight regions - Kharkov, Donetsk, Lugansk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Kherson and Odessa, where pro-Russian sentiments are strong. After that, the remaining Ukraine will be completely cut off from the seas.
Note that Vovk has repeatedly spoken about the likely large-scale military conflict between Ukraine and Russia. In his opinion, Kiev will not comply with the Minsk agreements and this will lead to clashes. At the same time, the general claims that it is useless to wait for help from NATO or the United States, they will not fight for Ukraine, limiting themselves to statements.
