Ukrainian special forces trained to prevent an attack by saboteurs at a nuclear power plant near the border with Belarus
According to the legend of the exercises, the target of the "invaders" was a nuclear power plant in the Rivne (Rivne) region, which borders Belarus in the north. The operation under the auspices of the SBU during the exercise was divided into two stages. First, the es-bae-ushniki stopped an attempt to penetrate the inner perimeter of the strategic object, and then, as they themselves say, pursued and blocked two groups of attackers retreating into the Volyn region. The attackers, according to the scenario of the exercises, tried to hide on the other side of the state border - in Belarus.
As part of the exercises, in addition to the SBU forces, units of border guards, the national guard and the national police were involved. The first "saboteurs" were detained in the vicinity of the Prikladniki checkpoint, the rest were surrounded and, according to the press service of the Ukrainian department, neutralized in a forest nearby.
SBU Press Service:
It should be noted that the Ukrainian security service regularly conducts so-called anti-sabotage exercises, including in the border areas.
Over the past three months, SBU officers have participated in a variety of different anti-terrorist exercises. In July, a scenario was worked out to counter the seizure of a foreign embassy in Kiev, in Odessa a detachment of the SBU joined the general military group at the Sea Breeze 2001 exercises, and in the Ivano-Frankivsk region repulsed an attack of conditional saboteurs at the airfield.
In August, anti-terror exercises were held in the Cherkasy region (protection of pilgrims), then there was a phase of practice in areas close to the borderline with the DPR and LPR, a separate event with the release of the "captured" helicopter was held in Transcarpathia.
However, the Ukrainian side itself is distinguished by the greatest sabotage activity - in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions. Therefore, anti-sabotage exercises in Ukraine often turn into DRG exercises.
