"More dangerous than all existing threats": reflections on global climate change

43

While the attention of almost the entire world is riveted on Afghanistan, scientists are sounding the alarm about a much more threatening situation. No Taliban terrorists (banned in Russia) compare to this threat. What are we talking about?

We are talking about global climate change. In recent years, natural disasters have manifested themselves more and more often. Meteorologists report drier summers even in places where the humidity level was previously very high. Fires, desertification. Warming threatens the melting of the millennial glaciers of Greenland and Antarctica. In turn, this melting can cause tsunamis and floods that have not yet been known to humanity.

Such apocalyptic forecasts are drawn by climatologists from around the world. They urge not to ignore climate changes that are occurring on a global scale today and can be easily recorded not only with the help of special equipment, but also with the “naked eye”.

It was noted that this is more dangerous than all the threats that humanity faces today.

Konstantin Semin reflects on global warming, on the impact of forecasts on politics and the economy in the world in the plot of "Agitprop":

    It's about global climate change
Which occur cyclically, whether a person wants it or not ... Global warming, like the unification of processes, which a person affects in VERY and VERY small quantities, but someone can make good money on this, as in his time on the "problem" of "ozone holes "

it's not just ozone - but also the import of refrigerants. production in the USSR ended, the Russian Federation did not support .. funny. the goals set 40 years ago were achieved by the West

The ozone hole was something ...
Then they began to "tell tales about terrible pesticide" vegetables from the Soviet fields ... And about "cute, nitrate-free" vegetables from Western farmers ...
And they are "native", it turns out they do not regret fertilizers to get 200 centners of "potite" from 1 hectare ...

They already predict a shortage of refrigerators wassat Only this time it is not Dupont who bends the whole world, but someone sly-ass is trying to bend Dupont. 40 years ago, climatological scientists greeted, tirelessly, about the worldwide cooling. Now they are talking about global warming.
Periodic climate changes have always been, and always will be. The person does not influence these changes in any way.
1000 years ago, the average annual temperature in Europe was 8 ° C higher than it is now. And the level of the oceans did not change in any way.
There have always been fires, droughts and floods. Only in ancient Rome no one knew anything about the fires in Yakutia and Australia.
    The climatologist is a charlatan.

If earlier the warming in the Russian Federation was denied, they laughed and drove the green and foreign gretta, now even Gazprom's money is not enough to deny the problem.

A bunch of real scientists are confirming the problem and showing the future difficulties. The Kremlin does not shy away from deforestation and promises hydrogen and batteries.

    It's about global climate change
simple question, what's wrong? The planet lives its own life, and humanity has only two main tasks !!!
Do not aggravate your situation and adapt to climate change!
Everything invented by someone, humanity, "the crown of creation, the kings of nature" ... all this is very conditional, for complacency. In fact, as we depended on the planet, we are still dependent!

Such apocalyptic forecasts are drawn by climatologists from around the world.
... Too little people are engaged in the systematic study of global processes occurring in nature!
This is not a reason for refusing to make forecasts, but everything must be done more carefully !!! Without hasty, unreasonable, conclusions.
It is NOT POSSIBLE to be ready for anything and always, but they hope, maybe it will carry, is also not reasonable.
As always, the golden mean. Do not panic, how much in vain, but also do not relax beyond measure.

Siberia will become an impenetrable swamp for many thousands of years when the permafrost melts

You can't say so categorically. To know the future of Siberia, you need to know the past of those places. As a real example of a territory that used to be permafrost, and then it disappeared, one can cite the territory of the Leningrad Region, the Baltic States and the Kaliningrad Region. 20 thousand years ago (during the last ice age) there was permafrost. Then she disappeared. What happened - you can easily see with your own eyes just walking in the vicinity of St. Petersburg. This is a plain, while Siberia has a completely different relief. The frozen soil does not allow moisture to pass through, keeping it on the surface, but it will melt and the water will leave. Think of spring and snowmelt.

Omsk is 90 meters above sea level, so it will not become a swamp. In any case, it was already hot in Siberia, mammoths with rhinos lived, which means there were evergreens or so. It won't get worse, rather better smile

Mammoths in Siberia lived while it was cold, but as the ice age ended and it became warm, they somehow massively and very quickly died out, perhaps because they are not swamp walkers at all.

We probably took different courses in geography. The height above sea level will never prevent a swamp from becoming a swamp. There are slightly different reasons. Here are the famous Pinsk (Pripyat) bogs feel great at an altitude of 135 meters.

So for Omsk I would not be so calm

mammoths are large herbivores. Monogastric. that is, they do not have a scar like artiodactyls. Therefore, the efficiency of digestion is rather low. They do not hibernate like bears, so they need juicy food all year round. In the cold, they will not last more than 2-3 months.
In addition, there were many large predators at that time, which indicates a good food supply. There were many animals. in the North - the reindeer is small .....

In Abkhazia, where I was in 1965, a local resident showed me the mountains. And earlier on them (on the mountains) snow remained until July. It turns out that the warming began a long time ago. And the water in the seas comes. It is clear that there will be people on warming who will speculate on this. And than not a welfare state, there will be more speculations. The less educated are easier to fool. There have been periods of warming and cooling all the time. Greenland is a green land after all, it is not a mockery of that name.

I read a book by the American paleontologist Neil Shubin "The Universe Within Us", he interestingly proves there that before microorganisms there was almost no water on Earth, and water arose precisely as a result of life on Earth. And before the oceans were shallow

And the water in the seas comes.

that's why. Only now there is less and less internal heat of the Earth, but more activity of the Sun and more greenhouse gases and, accordingly, steam. That evens out the climate and warms the cooling Earth. But in any case, you need to look into the distant Cosmos and think about it, otherwise the End will come to Humanity someday.

No climate change poses a global threat. Humans easily survive and thrive in any climate. Absolutely anyone, even in Antarctica, can live. The question is completely different.
There is a global degradation of the technosphere against the background of the global degradation of control systems. Simply put, the climate is the climate, and we have ceased to cope with any, the most uncomplicated threats. A little something is wrong, and our control systems demonstrate shameful helplessness, dense stupidity, reaching the level of insanity, and complete, some kind of epic incompetence. The methods of selection for power, worked out by humanity, have suffered a complete fiasco.
The climate cannot do us any significant damage. But our authorities - at any moment. Especially when they sincerely want to do well) For decades, do not clean up the consequences of any "correct" decision of our rulers. Horror ...
