The United States, together with partners, are considering options for responding to "Iranian piracy"
US Secretary of State E. Blinken made an official statement on the eve that the United States completely blames Iran for the attack on the Japanese tanker Mercer Street. According to the functionary, at the moment the United States, together with Great Britain, Israel and Romania, are considering options for a collective response to the incident in the Arabian Sea.
It should be noted that earlier Israeli Prime Minister N. Bennett made accusations against Iran. A senior politician said Jerusalem has 100% proof of Iranian involvement in the attack on a chemical tanker. According to him, the strike was carried out by means of a UAV and was intended for Israeli targets. However, in the end, the victims were citizens of other states.
Bennett stressed that this act of "Iranian piracy" should not go unnoticed and official Jerusalem expects a harsh reaction from the world community to the aforementioned incident.
Recall that a Japanese cargo ship operated by an Israeli operator was attacked in the Arabian Sea about 280 km off the coast of Oman on the night of July 29. As a result of the attack, citizens of Romania and Great Britain were killed.
The United Kingdom was also quick to blame Iran for the attack, citing its own investigation.
In turn, official Tehran categorically denies any involvement in the attack on the cargo ship. At the same time, Foreign Minister Said Khatibzade stressed that these are not the first groundless accusations against Iran from Israel and its allies.
