The multipurpose nuclear submarine "Novosibirsk" has completed the first stage of factory sea trials
The first serial multipurpose nuclear submarine of the modernized project 885M (Yasen-M) "Novosibirsk" completed the first stage of the factory sea trials, returning on Monday, August 2 to Severodvinsk.
As the TASS citing a source in the Russian defense industry complex, the submarine returned to Sevmash from a sea outlet. The first stage of the factory sea trials took place in the White Sea and took a month. There is no information about any specific activities carried out during the ZHI. Further plans for testing were also not disclosed, although it was previously reported that the factory sea trials would smoothly go into state trials, within which the submarine would make several exits to the sea and fire cruise missiles "Caliber" and "Onyx". Transfer of "Novosibirsk" to fleet scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.
As previously reported, the Novosibirsk nuclear submarine entered trials in early July 2021, leaving Sevmash. The crew and the delivery team were on board.
The nuclear submarine K-573 "Novosibirsk" is the second in the series and the first serial submarine of the Yasen-M project after the lead "Kazan". Laid down at Sevmash on July 26, 2013, launched on December 25, 2019.
Submarines of the Yasen-M project have a displacement of 13800 tons, a diving depth of 520 meters, a crew of 64 people, an autonomy of 100 days, an underwater speed of 31 knots. In service are mines, torpedoes 533 mm, cruise missiles "Caliber" and "Onyx", in the future - hypersonic "Zircon".
