The first serial multipurpose nuclear submarine of the modernized project 885M (Yasen-M) "Novosibirsk" completed the first stage of the factory sea trials, returning on Monday, August 2 to Severodvinsk.

As the TASS citing a source in the Russian defense industry complex, the submarine returned to Sevmash from a sea outlet. The first stage of the factory sea trials took place in the White Sea and took a month. There is no information about any specific activities carried out during the ZHI. Further plans for testing were also not disclosed, although it was previously reported that the factory sea trials would smoothly go into state trials, within which the submarine would make several exits to the sea and fire cruise missiles "Caliber" and "Onyx". Transfer of "Novosibirsk" to fleet scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.

As previously reported, the Novosibirsk nuclear submarine entered trials in early July 2021, leaving Sevmash. The crew and the delivery team were on board.

The nuclear submarine K-573 "Novosibirsk" is the second in the series and the first serial submarine of the Yasen-M project after the lead "Kazan". Laid down at Sevmash on July 26, 2013, launched on December 25, 2019.

Submarines of the Yasen-M project have a displacement of 13800 tons, a diving depth of 520 meters, a crew of 64 people, an autonomy of 100 days, an underwater speed of 31 knots. In service are mines, torpedoes 533 mm, cruise missiles "Caliber" and "Onyx", in the future - hypersonic "Zircon".

This is good, since Severodvinsk will be smacking with Zircon. While there the Solnechny have panic, from the immersed Prince Vladimir. We need to keep them in good shape to make them wiser.

Well, what kind of panic is there, rather an attempt to sow panic through the media.

The crew is 64 people, which is 2 times less than on the American Sea Wolfe and Virginia, which indicates a high level of Soviet and Russian engineers and the best living conditions for the crew. Ash also has more ammunition including missiles in mine launchers. This makes the ship truly versatile and makes our "partners" nervous. But a series of 8-9 nuclear submarines is not enough even for one fleet. There are plans to build a new nuclear submarine, cheaper, but I think the number of Ash trees needs to be increased to 12. It is not worth saving.

New? Husky mean? There are simply no other MAPL projects. The only question is how much cheaper it will be. The new project is all the same.

The cost of any equipment lies not only in the cost of construction, but also in operation.

better living conditions for the crew
      - a very controversial statement.
64 people - a problem with BZZ on a very large boat; a high degree of automation is an expensive problem with maintaining equipment in working order, especially 5 years after the flag was raised.

But the likelihood of accidents due to the notorious human factor is less likely.

which speaks of the high level of Soviet and Russian engineers and the best living conditions for the crew

This suggests that the notorious engineers have no idea what the crew is doing and in what conditions they will serve. All their dreams are shattered against harsh realities. 64 people-1 "political officer" who never carried any watch at all. There are 63 left, divided by 3 shifts, we get 21 combat posts for the entire submarine. We count: 6 compartments, each for a watchman, navigator, computer, boatswain on rudders, watch mechanical engineer, acoustician (two or three), watch officer, watch crew, watch hold, dive-ascent system, gyropost, signalman, watch electrician , watch "reactor". I counted 20 people. It’s just a “skimming” from memory. Minus doctors, he is not on duty. Question: and who will "eat" and provide people in three shifts with four meals a day? Or, again, engineers have designed space food, and as a result, an ordinary galley with "lagoons"? Again, people in the wardroom will be removed from the compartments. Somewhere there will be a two-shift.
In short, people will be seconded to go out to sea. Again.
Automation!!! The main thing is to crow, and there the grass does not grow.

Well, let's say that the staffing table given can be corrected. The duties of the officer of the watch are performed by the three senior officers in the crew. We remove the calculator, the functions of the watch hold are transferred to the watchkeepers in the compartments (with the assumption of the hardware possibility of such a reduction), the reduction of the watch acoustics to one person (modern information processing facilities allow this to be done). The fully automated diving and ascent system is handed over to the mechanical engineer on the watch.
An electrician and a reactor operator - one at a time, in an off-duty mode, as well as a security officer and a doctor.
        Total:
        Commander Senior Officer 1
        First Mate Senior Officer 1
        chekist senior officer 1
        doctor officer 1
        electrician st sailor 1
        reactor officer 1
        Watchmen:
        navigator - officer 3
        watch BIP - officer 3
        mechanical engineer - officer 3
boatswain on rudders - boatswain 3
        acoustic-st. sailor 3
        in compartments - sailor 18
gyropost - senior sailor (it is possible to switch to a non-watchdog mode) 3
        Total:
        3 senior officers
        8 officers
        3 boatswain
        6 senior sailors
        18 sailors
        Total
        34 rights.
For a certain reward, the questions of cooking and serving the mess-room by the forces of 24 seniors and just sailors are easily solved.

The submarine officer is immediately felt.
However, modern realities are very different from those in which we lived. So, speaking of functions that involve recording data, processing them and issuing recommendations can be shifted to technology. Monitoring the state of the ship's systems can be automated.
It is technically possible to create uninhabited compartments.
In the autonomous system, emergency situations are possible when crew actions may be required to fight for the survivability of the ship. But even this task can be solved by modern means.
In the end, it is possible to build a UUV, but due to the marine specifics, someone must be "the ultimate truth."
The most vulnerable link in the complex is the crew. In a confined space there is a limited number of people who, due to circumstances, are forced to communicate with each other.
In this case, the question is in the possibility of selecting the minimum necessary psychologically compatible crew. In other words, you cannot send six of them for 3 months on an autonomous voyage. And this is a question for science.
And the last thing: who will scrub the copper?
