The ex-head of Naftogaz named the main reason for Ukraine's defeat in the fight against Nord Stream 2
In Ukraine, they continue to look for reasons for the failure of the fight against the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Another circumstance that did not allow Kiev to win was announced by the former head of the Naftogaz board, Andrey Kobolev.
The ex-head of Naftogaz wrote a whole article for the newspaper Ukrainskaya Pravda, in which he pointed out the only and main reason for the failure in the fight against the Russian project. It turns out that Ukraine's loss of the status of "favorite" of the United States is to blame for everything. According to Kobolev, it was this status that helped Ukraine to receive "unprecedented aid" from Washington, since the United States owes nothing to Ukraine.
- says the ex-head of Naftogaz, adding that now this status has been lost and Ukraine itself is to blame for this, which has made a bet on the wrong candidate in the American elections. Now, in order to return to the status of the "favorite" of the United States, Kiev needs to restore relations with the White House. This is exactly the task facing the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, who is going to meet with Biden.
While Kiev is looking for reasons for the failure, Russian Gazprom did not book additional capacities for pumping transit gas for the fourth quarter of this year. Moreover, this affected not only Ukraine with its GTS, but also Poland with the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline. At the same time, it is reported about a certain shortage of gas in European gas storage facilities, formed against the background of the repair of the Nord Stream and Yamal-Europe gas pipelines and a decrease in the volume of gas pumped by the Russian company.
