The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the official name of the promising Checkmate fighter

43

Russian promising single-engine fighter Checkmate, most likely, will receive the official name of the Su-75. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

The minister, answering a question regarding a new fighter developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau, said that the Checkmate name was a working one invented by the project's engineers. It was also used at the presentation of the fighter during the MAKS-2021 air show. However, in the future, the aircraft will receive its own name, it is possible that it will be the Su-75.

The point is that this is a working title. We, of course, will eventually come to the traditional nomenclature, to which we are accustomed. Most likely, this is the Su-75. That is, if the base is taken from the Su-57, then the Su-75 variant

- leads the TV channel RBC words of Manturov.

Russian single-engine fighter Checkmate was shown on July 20, 2021. The aircraft was developed taking into account deliveries to both Russian Aerospace Forces and foreign customers. The declared characteristics: speed - up to 2M, flight range - up to 3 thousand km, payload weight - 7,4 thousand kg. A radar with AFAR, a circular optical and electronic reconnaissance system, a built-in electronic jamming system, an optical sighting system, and a wide-range communication system were installed.

The aircraft will be assembled at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft plant, which is a branch of the Sukhoi company. The company has already begun work on the creation of the first prototype of the new aircraft, which will be used for static tests.

Su-75, this was to be expected.

Sukhoi stated that the "seven" for their design bureau is a lucky number, and I myself have repeatedly called the plane by an unofficial name - "Su-75" in the comments.

Happy to get on the wing, Su - 75 Yes

that "seven" is for their KB, the number is lucky

For sukhovites, seven in concert designation, number lucky:
      Su-7; Su-17; Su-27; Su-37 (not serial); Su-47 (not serial); Su-57. hi

It was also noticed that aircraft with the number "35" are produced in large numbers and they have few accidents: F-35, Su-35.
The same with aircraft with the number "15":
        MiG-15, F-15

The Su-35 is a derivative of the Su-27.
The MiG-15 is a completely different "firm". We are talking here about the aircraft of the "Su" company.

There is a legend that A.N. Tupolev considered the four at the end of the cipher of passenger aircraft to be happy and legalized it by order: Tu-104, -114, -124, -134, -144, -154, -204, -334
Or maybe not a legend recourse

          large numbers and few accidents

It is not enough what% of the built boards? Is 5% a lot or a little? Taking into account that 2 Su-35s with the same symptoms fell during the day.

reported that the name Checkmate is a working title coined by the project's engineers.
Tryndezh is undisguised, sales managers can come up with this, I believe, but not engineers, engineers will have a richer and more built imagination.

Engineers have nothing more to do than invent names. Their task is to make the Object fly quickly and well.

"The plane will be assembled at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft plant"

Hopefully we're talking about test aircraft. KnAAZ is not idle anyway - Su-35, Su-57, possibly S-70. And at this time the new plant in Lukhovitsy is bored. It will completely stand up when the Su-75 goes into production. Who will need the MiG-29K / M2 / 35 then? Since the MiG and Su were brought under one "roof", then the MiG factories must be loaded. Lukhovitsy are also covered by the world's best air defense and missile defense, and KnAAZ? And is it worth building ALL the most modern Russian fighters there then?

Do the MIG sheep saw the interceptor? Something right for work on the edge of space if you read the rumors. But yes, with the advent of the Su-75, the fate of the MiG-35 has become even more ghostly.

I don’t believe in interceptor work at all. The Su-57 has a high supersonic speed in cruise (no afterburner) mode. Equipped with long-range B-B missiles. The flight range is where there is 31st. What else is needed? Well, if they do an interceptor, then it is for Sokol in Nizhny, where they assembled the MiG-31. He's quite alive.

There is no plane yet. There is a kind of application for funding. There are many constructive absurdities on the presented layout. Most likely the final look will be different.

How tired of nonsense with a single-engine fighter. It would be better to show the Su-57 with one engine - product 30 and the other - with the engine of the first stage. There would be more benefits.

-Mikhalych, here .... something incomprehensible !!!

I don’t understand this concept, which is disturbing the minds of some, - a cheap single-engine fighter.
Will we find cheap pilots for them too? Well, so as not to be sorry when, for example, a single engine dies over the sea, or in combat conditions, a missile with an IR seeker is caught.

Designed quickly with a supercomputer and artificial intelligence. Still, they began to do it quickly, otherwise it is simply unrealistic how much time has passed from the prototype to the serial one of the SU-57. There was a delay with the second stage engine, to be fair.
