In the USA: Teachings simulating war against China fail
After a failure in an exercise simulating a military clash between the United States and China, America is changing its strategy of a potential conflict with China. The methods used by the American military over the past 20 years have not worked against such powerful adversaries as the PRC or Russia.
According to Insider, this statement was made by the deputy head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, John Hayten, during his speech at the Institute for Emerging Technologies.
The American military leader noted that the exercises held at the end of last year "failed miserably" and suffered a fiasco. This happened due to the fact that the conditional adversary, having excellently studied the strategy and tactics of the actions of the US Armed Forces, acted ahead of the curve and won.
- declared the military leader.
According to Hayten, the US military operations in China and Russia are being studied even more thoroughly. Thus, in a real conflict, the result will be the same. This is forcing the US military to fundamentally change its approach.
As noted by the media, Hayten called the new strategy “extended maneuvering. It provides for a change in attitudes towards logistics, coordination of firing, command and control, as well as "establishing an information advantage."
