"Personnel purges": Ukrainian experts comment on the removal of Zelensky from the post of the commander of the DShV

Experts called what is happening in the power structures of Ukraine "personnel purges", behind which are the entourage of President Zelensky. As already reported, the President of Ukraine dismissed the head of the SVR, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a number of senior officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, and the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Earlier, the post was left by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov. Today it became known about the ongoing series of layoffs.

So, by decision of the president, the commander of the airborne assault forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yevgeny Moysyuk, was relieved of his post.

Moysyuk, 41, has held this post since August 21, 2019.

Evgeny Moysyuk has been in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2000. He went from the commander of an airborne platoon to the commander of the DShV (former Airborne Forces of Ukraine). In 2004, Moisyuk was sent to Iraq as part of the combined unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he served for several months under the command of NATO officers. In 2008-2009 he took part in the peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.

A few hours earlier, Zelensky dismissed Lieutenant General Vladimir Kravchenko from the post of commander of the Joint Forces Operation (Joint Forces Operation), replacing him with another Lieutenant General, Alexander Pavlyuk. In 2006-2007, he commanded the peacekeeping forces of Ukraine in Kosovo.

Ukrainian experts are increasingly talking about the fact that with such "personnel purges" Zelensky is trying to ensure that only officers loyal to him appear in command positions in power structures. This suggests that in recent years there has been a growing distrust on the part of the president of those commanders who were in office. Zelenskiy feared that the siloviki could stage a coup in Ukraine and remove him from power. However, now, in connection with the factual mass layoffs in the top of the power structures, among the generals, dissatisfaction with Zelensky's policies can only grow.
