The fifth armored rally "Road of Courage" postponed to 2022 due to COVID-19
“We are very sorry that this happened. We are already 100% prepared for the event. This year, a record number of participants - 75 people in 24 military vehicles - were supposed to take part in the armored rally. The event was supported by seven information partners, their cars were provided by the Russian Guard, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the URAL automobile plant. However, the situation with the spread of COVID-19 is deteriorating, restrictions are imposed on holding mass events in Moscow and the regions. After consulting with Rospotrebnadzor and the administrations of the regions through which our route was to pass, we decided to postpone the fifth anniversary armored rally to similar dates in 2022, along the same route, ”said Alexey Migalin.
According to him, another military-patriotic action of the MILITARY-TECHNICAL SOCIETY was postponed to the next year - the fifth "Kerch landing" Road of Courage "to force the Kerch Strait on armored vehicles, which was to take place in early August in honor of the Kerch-Eltigen operation of 1943.
The fifth armored rally "The Road of Courage", timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Smolensk in the Great Patriotic War, was planned to be held from 8 to 13 July. The participants of the armored rally had to drive 1300 km on demilitarized and military vehicles along the route Moscow-Rzhev-Vyazma-Smolensk-Bryansk-Lyudinovo-village Petrishchevo-Moscow.
The column included restored vehicles that were previously in service with the USSR army: BRDM-1, BRDM-2, BTR-40, ZIS-5, BTR-80, BRDM-2MB "Bekas" (modernized BRDM-2), as well as military vehicles: GAZ-69, UAZ-469, ZIS-151, ZIL-157, ZIL-131, GAZ 63 AS-1, UAZ-469 - mine detector, - SBM VPK-233136 "Tiger", "Ural-VV", "Patrol", KamAZ-63968 ("Typhoon-K" 6X6), KamAZ-53949 ("Typhoonok"), URAL NEXT.
