Ukraine is "transferring" a coastal mobile missile system with anti-ship missiles RK-360MTS "Neptune" from the domestic "KrAZ" chassis to the Czech "Tatra". This was stated by the representative of the company SKTB Corporation "UkrInnMash".
The naval forces of Ukraine will receive the first division of the mobile complex with the PKR RK-360MTs "Neptune" already on the Czech chassis. According to Defense Express, referring to the words of the same representative of the company, the assembly of the first division is already underway, the first samples should be shown at the "grand" military parade in honor of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
Now we are producing a series, the "Neptune" division. These are six vehicles of each type - transport vehicles, transport loaders and six launchers. I think the first samples will be presented at the parade.
- quotes the publication of the words of the director of the company Maxim Myatenko.
At the end of May this year, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine recognized the tests of prototypes of the coastal mobile missile system with the RK-360MTs "Neptune" anti-ship missiles on the KrAZ chassis as unsatisfactory, which showed negative results and low reliability. Based on the test results, it was proposed to replace the KrAZ chassis with a chassis from another manufacturer. By a joint decision of the military department and the Luch design bureau, which developed the Neptune, the Czech Tatra was chosen as the chassis for the complex, which came up with all the necessary parameters.
The first full-time complex of the Ukrainian Navy should be received in 2022. Judging by the statements of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, it will already be on the Tatra chassis.
