The Ministry of Defense of the Philippines confirms information about the loss of one of the helicopters performing a scheduled flight. According to the latest information, the S-70i Black Hawk helicopter, which was performing a training flight at night, crashed.
Filipino sources report that this helicopter was acquired relatively recently as part of the party. The fall of the rotorcraft occurred near the city of Kapas, located northwest of the capital of the country - Manila. There is a large military base in the Kapas area.
All members of the Philippine Army who were on board the helicopter were reportedly killed. These are three crew members and three more military men who were in the helicopter.
It is known that the search for the Philippine Air Force helicopter began immediately after the crew stopped communicating. The versions of the Black Hawk disaster have not yet been reported.
It should be noted that in the province of Tarlac, where the helicopter crashed, there were extremely difficult weather conditions at night: heavy rain and low visibility. When performing a night flight, this could well have affected the situation.
While the search is underway for flight recorders, which should help to establish the exact cause of what happened.
