The line of German robotic platforms has been replenished with a new Mission Master XT complex

The German Bundeswehr may soon receive a new ground-based robotic complex manufactured by Rheinmetall. The Mission Master XT platform complements the Mission Master line of standalone platforms.

The Mission Master family of robotic platforms is designed to support military operations in any terrain and in any weather. The line already includes options for transporting goods, fire support, evacuating the wounded, and conducting reconnaissance.

The new Mission Master XT platform is also designed to accommodate various equipment, but it has one important difference - it also has a diesel engine, while the entire family is equipped with electric motors only.

According to the developers, the new diesel engine allows the platform to cover 750 km at one gas station. The installed lithium-ion batteries, if necessary, provide up to 6 hours of silent operation. The robot itself is designed to move through difficult terrain, besides, it is also a waterfowl.

The Mission Master XT platform weighs 2217 kg, while it can carry up to 1 ton of cargo. It is possible to install any modules on it, both combat and reconnaissance. The control is carried out remotely by the operator or offline. The platform is compatible with NATO's command and control systems. If necessary, a soldier can take over control and operate the platform like a conventional vehicle. For this there is a special joystick and an "emergency" seat.

Such machines have long been needed, but only with the development of kamikaze drone drills and guided projectiles, it is necessary to install electronic warfare systems and jamming such as clouds on it.

"The cloud" is well described by Stanislav Lem in the novel "Invincible".
This is where humanity is heading, from which in the end nothing will remain except this self-sufficient "cloud".

In fact, he also has a different vision of the situation in the later story "Peace on Earth" (refers to the cycle of Iyon the Quiet). The story was also based on the self-improvement of robots, but already made by people and on the lunar test sites. It turned out ... funny, and not at all like "Invincible". = 3 I would even say diametrically opposite.

I'm more interested in the fact that the platform clearly has ultra-low pressure tires (as indicated by the very high ground clearance). And such any explosive bullet or shrapnel turns into a simple corrugated rubber rag on the rim.

In fact, even the Sherpa has an exhaust pumping system. Let us not consider the Germans more stupid than us ...

We need such machines for a long time

As for me, on the contrary, it is better to develop an aircraft with a VTOL (VTOL) with a carrying capacity and dimensions for the transportation of normal equipment (BA with a mass of 5-10 tons) than to develop such under-machines for existing weak aircraft.

That he is very much like a Sherpa without a top))) I wonder if they are the same?)

He (Sherpa) does not look like this is not a serial sample.
These are fakes / whistles / nozzles on a personal initiative.
"Sherpa" is an attempt to knock out money from the customer for production.
But this is not how the military business works. I've been in this damn system since 2002.
The current sample is pre-production. Next is a series. Next is the product.
I could be wrong. But, damn it, write then what I'm wrong about.
I will find an opponent, and, having the gift of persuasion, I will reach him.

People, what kind of our serial developments are they trying to overtake?
    Can they ?
Because "they are engaged in game", I already understood, judging by the comments
    below.

you have a wrong point of view. if we draw an analogy, "what is the police for?" you think that either "it is needed to prevent crime" or "it is needed to catch criminals", both theses are wrong, true "it is needed to minimize the crime rate to values that are insignificant for the state."

For example, you are a chicken producer, if a chicken is stolen from you, then it is neither warm nor cold for the state, but if you stop producing chickens because of theft, then it is harm for the state.
