It became known about the power outage at the Iranian nuclear power plant. We are talking about the "Bushehr" facility. This was reported by the Iranian state television. According to the latest information, the introduction of the nuclear power plant into regular operation will take place no earlier than June 23, which, as reported, may lead to power outages in different regions of the country.
In the Israeli press, commenting on the situation, they write that the power outage at the Bushehr nuclear power plant was of an emergency nature. The reports say that it happened last Saturday and that initially the Iranian authorities did not officially report the shutdown.
The Bushehr NPP was commissioned in 2010. At the same time, construction began in 1975. The first Iranian nuclear power plant was being built in several stages (one of them - after mothballing) with the participation of Soviet (and then Russian) specialists.
The station has 1 operating and two power units under construction. The type of reactors used is VVER-1000 with a rated electrical power of 1000 MW.
At the moment, as reported in Iran, repair work is underway at the nuclear power plant. No excess of the radiation background in the area of the Bushehr NPP is reported.
