The main newsmaker of recent days, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, announced negotiations between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and American leader Joe Biden, to be held in Washington in July.
According to Kuleba, Kiev has already identified the main topic of negotiations and it will relate to the possibility of involving the United States in negotiations on Donbass. The Ukrainian minister stressed that the negotiations should contribute to strengthening the defense capability of Ukraine and help to resolve the situation in Donbass.
We have entered the stage of preparing the visit (...) There will be many other topics, but this topic is number one
- said Kuleba.
In turn, experts are confident that at a meeting with Biden, Zelensky will try to correct Ukraine's positions, which have been significantly shaken recently. Previously the main topic, Kiev is less and less of interest to Western countries, which is clearly seen in Washington's attitude towards it.
Meanwhile, Kiev again gathered to change the Minsk agreements. NSDC Secretary Aleksey Danilov made a corresponding statement. According to him, Ukraine will not denounce the agreements, but it will not work with them in the form in which they were adopted. Danilov accused Russia of the impossibility of fulfilling the Minsk agreements, according to the tradition that has developed in Kiev. According to him, the presence of the Russian army in the territory of Donbass neutralizes all Kiev's efforts for a peaceful settlement.
