Anti-aircraft units in the Far East will be the first to receive armored vehicles "Typhoon-Air Defense"

25

The Typhoon-Air Defense armored vehicles specially designed for the transportation of MANPADS crews will go to the Far East. According to the Ministry of Defense, one of the first armored cars will begin to be supplied to the anti-aircraft units of the Eastern Military District.

Air defense units of the Air Defense Forces will be among the first to receive armored vehicles "Typhoon-Air Defense", a decision has already been made in the military department. The calculations for armored vehicles will be rearmed with 9K333 "Verba" MANPADS. In addition, they will receive automation equipment for the complexes and mobile radars, allowing them to integrate MANPADS and Typhoon-Air Defense systems into a common air defense system.

As reported "News" with reference to the military, deliveries of armored vehicles will begin after the end of state tests and will depend on the pace of their production.

As previously stated in the Ministry of Defense, the main purpose of the Typhoon-Air Defense armored vehicle is to cover military convoys, mechanized groups on the march and in parking areas, as well as to quickly change the positions of calculations of mobile anti-aircraft complexes.

The armored car is a modification of the "Typhoon-VDV" armored car already in service. The main difference is the turret with a 12,7 mm machine gun and the presence of two hatches in the roof: one for the gunner-machine gunner, the second for the gunner-operator MANPADS. The set includes 9 portable anti-aircraft complexes.

Gross weight - 14 tons. Engine - 350 HP, max. speed - 105 km / h, cruising range - up to 1200 km. Crew of 5 people: driver, crew commander and 3 gunner of MANPADS crew. The armor provides protection against large-caliber bullets and detonation under the bottom of 4 kg, and under the wheel - 6 kg of explosives (in TNT equivalent).

    Straight a miracle of technology.
I really thought that something like the "Flex" was cut, like a pipe in the launcher from the inside of the car, stuck out, and he sits behind the armor and looks at the real optics and the screen of the equipment for pairing with external target designation ..

Apparently, to jump on "Sadko" or something else is not destiny? Cutting does not allow?

This one is still armored, and he has to move in the same order with the armored personnel carriers.

We have armored personnel carriers, which only have to be remotorized (changed at 70k for diesel) - is there not enough for storage?
At the same time, they would not stand out from the rest.

Not bad, especially the presence of the ACS. But heavy. It won't go everywhere. And on Dalny there are swamps. Maybe it's better to remake MTLB after all? It is just used for this purpose, but it is rather low, the rear hatches are not convenient, a ramp is needed.

No, there is a "Pine" for that. In the Donbass, the settlements (departments) move to MTLB. A good, reliable, easy-to-repair, mass-produced car, but it needs alterations, incl. housing.

Served on boom 10M3 of the 100th DPR brigade, one year contract. 2nd battery - MANPADS, they are on conventional MTLB. It is necessary to change the tracks - they slide on concrete, paving stones, even asphalt. They row poorly in the water, and in general now everywhere rubber-metal. On an ordinary one, - a tower with a remote control system, - you can't shoot it in life, it's useless. Better like an arrow, removable RMB. You can work on the UAV if you remove it, and fight off the infantry. Very low - cut off the roof and raise it higher, by 15 cm. Saddles to the ceiling - this is now a must. Replace the radio. It's not expensive. And so the engine is not bad, but eat a lot. Change together with the box and unfold, there will be more space. We need fasteners for weapons - it's safer than in clumsy hands, which hold a glass and a stew on the go. It happens. And yes, the ramp! Try to jump into the hatch in armor, with a weapon, and if you burn or detonate?

Oleg, so you need a new car, but with the features of a former car, but these are hardly new tendencies (such as idiotic mrap) new cuts, when these monsters come out on the battlefield higher than tanks, then rejoice your motorcycle skate will not be seen by your enemies

From the air, it is no worse than a tank visible, and with MANPADS no one will beat a cheap quadric. If you do not touch the engine, then you can change the harp and digest a 5mm thick case, this is a penny, you can not only at the repair plant, but also by the forces of the Rem company.

This also exists, only it is much easier to detect and destroy it than a fighter with MANPADS in a forest or urban development. It's just a delivery vehicle for the calculation of MANPADS and nothing more.

BMP-1 in the set of weapons could include Sirela-2 MANPADS.
And all the same - they could cover the convoy in motion and in the parking lot ...

The decision was made before the end of state tests? ) At the same time, it is absolutely unclear what production rates will be, that is, the Ministry of Defense did not even stipulate in what time frame how much will be delivered?
Not an article, but it is not clear what ...

Well, a very strange feeling from this technique ..

A car from which you can lean out the hatch?
    Is this innovation?

The Typhoon Maker brought the briefcase into the correct place. Did they even change the engine and chassis to domestic ones, or are they still produced from foreign components?

The Far East should always be a priority ... Even when the Germans in the Second World War were already actually near Moscow, full-fledged divisions were held there to the last ...
And although China is a partner so far, you need to keep your ear ahead of the curve.
PS OUR people there are not enough, that's the main problem. hi

I am amazed at the power of the KAMAZ lobby at the top. 14 ton to charge the car to transport a pair of MANPADS operators? Oh yes! Machine gun...
For comparison, a city bus weighs the same.
In this project, he gives everything in delirium.
First, why load several people into an expensive two-axle KAMAZ? You can also lean out of the hatch from the Tiger. And from the APC. The fact that the anti-aircraft gunner has 14 tons of NATO-made iron under his ass will not make his work more efficient.
Secondly, mobility itself is not the main thing for a MANPADS operator. First of all he needs INTELLIGENCE. He’s not a robot, he’s a man, he doesn’t see everything right away and doesn’t see everything if he rotates his head 360 degrees. Who would have said to him "look at 13 o'clock." In advance. At least a couple of minutes. Then he will hit something. And 14 tons on wheels will not help him.
Thirdly, the efficient work of the operator from the machine is generally a strange idea. Or will he stick out of the hatch all the way?
Fourthly, if someone wants to improve the efficiency of MANPADS use, then they should not put two operators in an iron box with holes in the roof, but use ready-made solutions, for example:

The creators of MANPADS have already figured out how to increase efficiency, have created a ready-made working version. But not in a 14-ton KAMAZ, but in a regular pickup. For such purposes, by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the vehicle VPK-39273 "Wolf" was created - a three-axle armored high cross-country ability. Weighing 7 tons. For the effective use of MANPADS, this machine needs to be equipped with a reconnaissance system (OLS or compact radar) and a modified Dzhigita-type system.

But, as I understand it, KAMAZ will crush everything.

Colleagues, we read carefully - this is a unified vehicle for transporting air defense gunners. It is possible to install a radar and ACS to distribute targets between the arrows. The arrows are in camouflaged positions, being in the hatch is just one of many options.
