From Su-24MR to drones: the Ministry of Defense decided to re-equip the reconnaissance units of the Aerospace Forces

The country's defense department decided to carry out a phased rearmament of the reconnaissance units of the Russian Aerospace Forces on Drones. We are talking about squadrons that currently use aircraft for reconnaissance.

Newspaper "News", referring to his own sources in the Ministry of Defense, writes that the decision on this kind of rearmament has already been made. Squadrons of the Russian Aerospace Forces responsible for reconnaissance will be equipped with modern UAVs with a long range of use. We are talking about aerial drones that can monitor the situation using optoelectronic tracking systems, as well as avionics.

With the help of such UAVs, reconnaissance of the terrain will be carried out with the identification of objects and positions of the enemy, areas of accumulation of his equipment and manpower.

At the moment, the Russian Aerospace Forces uses Su-24MR aircraft for this kind of purposes. These are tactical reconnaissance aircraft capable of carrying out all-weather reconnaissance at any time of the day. The Su-24MR aircraft is equipped with an on-board reconnaissance system, which includes an AP-402M panoramic camera, an M-101 "Bayonet" radar, and an SRS-14 "Tangazh" station. On an external sling, the aircraft is capable of carrying additional equipment. For example, a container with a laser device M-103 "Shpil-2M".

At the same time, talk about the obsolescence of the Su-24MR with reconnaissance equipment has been going on for several years. The troops are considering the possibility of replacing them in order to increase the effectiveness of aerial reconnaissance and comprehensive monitoring of the situation.

Progress does not stand still, the main thing is that words and deeds do not diverge. Terminator, in 1983 he was still a fantasy, and in 2023 he can do "I'll be back" in reality. The only question is, do we already have our own technologies of a similar level, and not of Chinese-Israeli production? On the other hand, we were the first to fly into space on our own technology, and this is not the point, but the fact that Joseph Vissarionych and Lavrenty Palych need to be dug out?

Yes, yes, you need to dig them up so that they put you in a camp in which you will develop terminator technologies for the country! How else?!
Dig up the queen and ask if we could fly into space without 8 years of his imprisonment and work in a prison-type design bureau for counter-revolutionary activities in favor of the Trotskyist organization?

Are you afraid? So you feel a sin for yourself ... Didn't they drown for Navalny? laughing If anything, just kidding, forgive generously! But look what a paradox - who is most afraid of the return of respected comrades: liberals, national traitors, thieving officials ... Stalin is 60 years old, and all sorts of crooks are afraid of him to trembling knees (this does not apply to you, as far as I think, that you are mistaken) hi

You seem to be an adult, Eugene, but you write some kind of childish, wonderful nonsense. Excuse me generously, I did not want and do not want to offend you. Stalin is no longer 60 years old, so live for today, and not fantasies, like Stalin or Beria. Stalin come, put things in order. Well, not funny ?!

But in addition to long-range UAVs, it would be better to give reconnaissance drums as well.

It may be better to have two UAVs, one clean reconnaissance aircraft (it can be made using stealth technology to be either small-sized so that you need not a gluttonous and small engine for long-term maintenance in the air, or large, but also using stealth technology with a high flight altitude with powerful reconnaissance equipment, the ability to refuel (although with our number of air tankers it looks like an overkill), but the most important thing is that such UAVs should be able to direct the entire range of weapons to any targets. planning an aerial bomb, not a missile, this is a question of the price tag. And such ammunition is highly vulnerable to normal air defense. And if you look at who the Russian Federation will have to face in case of a conflict, it turns out that our opponents with air defenses seem to be more or less normal. an attack drone for the sake of a beautiful picture from countries with a sluggish conflict (Ukraine, Syria, etc.) can economically not substantiated, the artillery has not been canceled.

“Work continues on a unified armament complex for UAVs of different classes. The complex will include unguided, corrected and guided aerial bombs with a caliber of up to 100 kilograms, as well as guided air-to-surface missiles. A single complex of weapons is planned to be used on the unmanned aerial vehicles "Inokhodets" (also known as "Orion"), "Altius", "Forpost", as well as on new UAVs that will be created in similar tactical and medium-altitude classes, "said the interlocutor of the RIA News".
Some of the weapons being developed were tested in Syria, where they were used from the Orion unmanned aerial vehicle at terrorist targets.
The unmanned aerial vehicle "Altius" is the carrier of the largest missile and bomb load with a total weight of up to 1000 kilograms. "Altius" and "Orion" in the future will become carriers of the developed 100 kg guided aerial bombs.

There is always a lot of water in the military theme, because as the Great Confucius bequeathed: If you do not have drones, then say that you have them, if you have devices, say that they do not.
If UAVs fly 1000 km, say that they fly only 100 km, and if they fly 100 km, say that they fly 1000 km.

Here the question is, rather, in the UAV class. Satellite control was spotted for Altair ... so they decided with the range .... If the control and reconnaissance systems are worked out, then they will make a glider with a motor (jet or not). Here it is a very simple task.

if about a direct replacement, then this is an average range. Because practical for the Su-24MR +/- 500km. This is closer to Orion than Altarius.

They are rearming, removing the su24mr from service. They have long wanted to give them up. Su24, which are bombers, are gradually being removed from service altogether. They are actively used in Syria, developing a resource, supplied from the availability of the Syrians and Egyptians for Haftar. Now it’s finally the turn of the day. Instead, they will form units with the Orions and Altius. The Orions have already started shipping, the Altius are still in testing. And more serious reconnaissance aircraft such as tu24r and il214 will certainly not go anywhere.
