From among the pupils and instructors of the Voroshilov (Stavropol) flying club, five became Heroes of the Soviet Union. On the one hand, this is a lot, considering that only 300 young men and women underwent training at the flying club on the eve of the Great Patriotic War. On the other hand, why only five?

Leonid Sevryukov, Boris Volovodov, Vasily Zaitsev, Grigory Ryabushko, Vasily Ziborov ... Five pilots, five heroes, whose fates were tied by the Voroshilov flying club. And the war. One for all…

What qualities did these people possess? What was the guarantee that it was they who became heroes, and not someone else?
We tried to answer these questions in this episode of the film.

Filming took place in Gelendzhik, Anapa, Novorossiysk, Leningrad Region, Stavropol, Kochubeevsky and Shpakovsky districts of Stavropol Territory.
