The Pacific completed a visit to Pearl Harbor
This morning a detachment of Pacific ships fleet As part of the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleev, the tanker Boris Butoma, and the ocean rescue Fotiy Krylov, under the command of Captain 1st Rank Sergei Sobokar, he completed his visit to the Pearl Harbor Naval Base.
From 29 June to 6 August, Russian sailors took part in the largest multinational exercise in the Hawaiian Islands region RIMPAK-2012.
Structurally, the teaching was divided into land and sea parts. While in the database, the exercise participants held numerous working conferences and volunteers, meetings and theoretical classes.
On July 11, the ships entered the sea and there, having divided into several operational formations, began to perform the naval part of the exercise.
Over the 20 days, more than 40 exercises have been performed by Russian sailors and their American counterparts. Our sailors excelled in artillery firing, quickly hitting a high-speed, small-sized target, as well as when playing numerous anti-terrorism and anti-piracy episodes with the landing of inspection teams on Russian and American ships. In addition, Russian helicopter pilots took part in an aviation exercise, during which the Ka-27 helicopter landed for the first time on the American flagship aircraft carrier Nimitz.
During the exercise, the Russian detachment covered more than three thousand miles.
4 in August in Pearl Harbor, at the joint training headquarters, a summing up took place, then a reception was held at the flagship of the exercise, the Nimitz nuclear aircraft carrier, at which the command of the Russian detachment was awarded a special prize, and Senior Lieutenant Alexey Mansurov was awarded a gold medal, which was awarded RIMPAKA best officers.
The command of the joint staff of the exercise gave a high assessment to the actions of Russian sailors, particularly exemplary discipline and impeccable organization of Pacific service were noted.
Now a detachment of Russian ships went into the Pacific Ocean and headed for the shores of the Land of the Rising Sun. In Japan, Russian sailors will make a business call at the port of Maizuru, then head to their native shores.
The detachment will arrive in Vladivostok at the end of August.
