A new contract for the supply of upgraded Ka-52M will be signed in 2020

46

A large long-term contract for the supply of modernized Ka-52M attack helicopters to the troops is most likely to be concluded next year. This was announced by the head of the holding "Helicopters of Russia" Andrei Boginsky.

According to Boginsky, the holding expects in the 2020 year to conclude with the Ministry of Defense a long-term major contract for the supply of modernized Ka-52M helicopters, similar to the contract concluded this year for the supply of Mi-96Н helicopters to the 28 troops.

There is a new development work that we began to carry out this year on further modernization. We hope that next year we will be able to enter into contracting, for our part, we will make every effort to ensure that we succeed by analogy with Mi-28 - so that we enter into a long-term contract with Ka-52 in a modernized form

- he said.

The head of the holding noted that the conclusion of a long-term contract for a large batch of helicopters is in the interests of not only the manufacturer itself, but also the Ministry of Defense.

This is good both for the Ministry of Defense and for us. We receive a long-term order, we provide cooperation with work, there are clear terms, prices, pace of deliveries - this, in my understanding, will allow the industry to feel stable in this direction (...) And now the Mi-28 in the new GPV is a fresh example, and we want the best of this example to take and implement on Ka-52

- he explained.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Defense expects to receive 114 attack helicopters Ka-52M. A new upgraded version of the helicopter will appear in 2022 year.

The development of a modernized version of Ka-52M taking into account the Syrian experience is already underway. Among the requirements voiced by the Ministry of Defense for a new helicopter are increased security, new energy supply systems and target detection (installation of a new radar with AFAR). The machine will also receive new weapons, largely unified with the Mi-28N.

The Ka-52 Alligator is a new-generation Russian attack and attack helicopter designed to solve a wide range of tasks. Equipped with modern avionics and powerful weapons. Equipped with electronic protection system and devices to reduce visibility.

As practice shows, competition between design bureaus is always good and should be at least at least two. One KB relaxes too fast ...

Not so long ago, the head of the Rostec aviation cluster, Anatoly Serdyukov, began a total optimization of "excess production capacity" at the enterprises controlled by the holding.

Rostec decided to merge two design bureaus - Mil and Kamov. In exchange, a certain National Center for Helicopter Engineering will be created.

This process should be completed by the end of the 2022 year. It is expected that as a result of the merger, the total area of the two enterprises will be reduced by at least 40%, and the area of buildings and structures by 20%. At the same time, approximately 5% of employees of both design bureaus will lose their jobs. But the layoffs will not affect engineers and designers, but exclusively support and management personnel.

And what is the competition here? With us, both design bureaus receive a prize.

KB competition is always welcome. But why allocate production capacity for two essentially identical machines? If the design bureau wants their car to be manufactured, let them do the best project. Do not shmogli - if you please produce a competitor's car. Everything is better than the current insanity. This also applies to tanks.

It flies because they have no internal competition - niches are divided and milked the budget.

The Ka-52 is a more advanced and promising machine in terms of future upgrades, it has radar, more power density and better protection. But it is more expensive. And his childhood diseases were detected and treated, and have been treated up to the present.
Mi-28 is not only a product of the marketing pressure of KB Mil, but also a cheaper alternative. There are not enough stars from heaven, but it also does not require long-term retraining for army pilots with Mi-24 \ 35.
          Mi-28 - strike assault version.
Ka-52 is a delicate tool for more sophisticated tasks. If you put a good radar on it, say from the MiG-35 (and this is nothing impossible) and equip it with longer-range weapons ... he will then be able to fend off the group, position, ship, if necessary, and from aviation ...
In general, helicopters are of several different classes, capabilities and prospects for modernization. Both are needed.

here, here ... it’s exactly we are waiting for him. we will not wait in any way. Hermes will be finalized. Then it is possible to upgrade the helicopter itself. unless of course this is required by new weapons ... and so it makes no sense, if there is no main thing, for which it would be worth starting modernization as such. I have heard a lot about Hermes for a long time, but so far only rumors ... it has been rumored that Kuzya was sent there (to Syria) precisely for working out that missile on the marine version (Katran), but whether it is true or not is not clear. The Ministry of Defense carefully conceals the results of those tests. the result of which is the appearance on the sites of various kinds of shortcomings and hints. Well, if you have finished, then it's time to begin full modernization, because Russian turntables were the only ones to lose the American ones, in rocket armament. Nothing more. but this is a serious argument, so you can’t look at it through your fingers in any case. but there are morons who, as they are now, will put a minus to the comment and go with a sense of accomplishment to amuse themselves with the fact that they are not urapatriots and not all-out enthusiasts .. they do not approach the problem objectively. they blur it. it is worse than betrayal.

new missiles and armaments as a whole need a new SLA, and this is the modernization of the helicopter itself, the article also indicated that the security will be modernized, etc., apparently, the experience of the database in Syria showed insufficient protection of the critical systems of the machine.

combat experience has clearly shown that we need new missiles. which are absent. everything else is excellent helicopters and they have enough life and resource. although some design flaws may be revealed. but this is a secondary issue. the most important thing is its striking power. but it is not visible that would be modernized.

They just decided that it was too difficult and impractical (given the ability of the "Alligator" to move at least "sideways-forward", at least in general "backwards") that it is more expedient to install a powerful AFAR in the nose of the fuselage!
