Over 14 percent of Estonian reservists ignored the challenge to the exercises
The largest exercises in recent years involving reservists have been held in Estonia. The command reports that, in total, more than three quarters of the personnel of the reservists, called by the General Staff of the Republican Self-Defense Forces for training, were involved in the exercises.
If expressed in absolute terms, the indicators for attracting Estonian reservists are as follows: 1464 people from 1902 who received summons (76,7%). It is added that 160 reservists (8,4%) did not appear at the assembly point for good reasons, as a result of providing the relevant documents, including medical certificates. Almost 270 representatives (over 14%) of the Estonian reserve reserve were simply ignored.
In the Estonian segment of social networks, it is said that the majority of those who ignored the subpoenas could “not know about them”. The summonses mentioned the need to arrive at the assembly point on the same day.
As a result, a special commission was created, which will now investigate the situation in which each 7 reservist called up for training did not appear at the assembly point and did not provide a document allowing him not to participate in army training and maneuvers.
Exercises involving reservists started in Estonia on 16 on October. At the same time, already in the course of the measures begun, it was necessary to partially review the goals and objectives set for the units due to the fact that a shortage of personnel was discovered.
According to the results of the exercise, the Ministry of Defense of Estonia thanked those reservists who came to the assembly point.
