The development team of the promising European fighter, declared as the 6 generation fighter, said that the model previously presented at the September international DSEI arms exhibition "will not have much in common with the final model."

"Unapproachable electronic fortress" - Europeans about the promising 6 fighter of the Tempest generation

We are talking about a combat vehicle with the working name Tempest. Companies from Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Sweden are working on a project to create it. The general development team was called Team Tempest.

What are the plans of the designers?

It is stated that the technology demonstrator of the European multipurpose 6 generation fighter will be created by 2025, and the prototype will appear by 2035.

What do Europeans currently mean by sixth generation fighter core technology?

As it turns out, the main emphasis will be placed on the ability of the aircraft to carry out combat operations in the setting of any electronic interference from the enemy with the counteraction to information loss during the exchange thereof. The name of the project echoes the Transient Electromagnetic Pulse Emanation Standard - TEMPEST technology, which is associated with the ability to intercept classified information based on the reception of so-called spurious radiation.

The fighter created by Europeans is positioned as an “impregnable electronic fortress” - in the sense that all information transmitted and received by it will be reliably protected from electronic interception.

At the same time, critics of this approach note that while developers are thinking about technologies to counter modern electronic warfare systems, the very principles of jamming are being improved. By 2035, what would today be an “impregnable electronic fortress” could well become a “sieve” due to the development of technology in intercepting information and disrupting the communication channels of the enemy.

Meanwhile, the developers of the promising fighter say that he will be able to take more weapons than, for example, the F-35, and add that the aircraft will use a laser gun. At the same time, they hope that in a few years they will be able to implement a technology to reduce the size of the energy storage device for servicing a combat laser.

There are such good expressions - "If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans", "Man proposes, God disposes", "For any action, there is opposition", "Against scrap, there is no reception", "For any cunning nut, there is one threaded bolt "... but they probably do not know these expressions.

It seemed to me the development of Tempest was announced by Britain; subsequently, Italy and Sweden joined them.
Germany and France plan to cut their pepelats.
Or am I missing something ...

    - And the plane will fly faster than the speed of light!
    - Comrade Major, scientists say nothing can fly faster than light ...
    - The plane is secret! Scientists may not know about him!

What impregnable? If it is designed for network-centric interaction, it is open to interrupt entry and exit! And if input and output work, it is vulnerable!

Best of all, a glider and a paraglider meet these requirements. They have minimal radar visibility.

Let them do it in the dimensions of the An-124. There, by the way, there will be a place for batteries supplying the proposed laser "gun".

"the main emphasis will be placed on the aircraft's ability to carry out combat operations in conditions of any electronic jamming from the enemy."
That is, they will put an OLS on the plane, in addition to the main radar. This is what it turns out that they decided to catch up with Su 57 by the year 35, I hope that by this moment we will have something new.

By the mid-thirties, a new fighter will appear in the USA, Great Britain, Germany and France, and India and Turkey will catch up with their models. Surely something will betray China. Isn't it time for us to launch a new project. By the thirty-fifth year, we need to give out something new to us, so as not to lag behind.

In vain you laugh about the laser. It will not be used instead of a gun, but for self-defense. After 15 years, technology will take a step forward, everything is achievable. In addition, the laser system is already on the transporters and is relatively commercially used.

It is unlikely to succeed ... they have few developments in this area.
France has more chances. On Rafale they try to repeat
    wrapping F-35.
And the English + Italians + Swedes have a little experience, neither in EW, nor in Cyber.
    Not in lasers.
They will succeed as a result (optimistic option!)
something similar to an improved F-35 of the same fifth generation.

This is on f-35 part of the decisions of the rafal is repeated. As for the topic, as you know, France (and Germany, but it's hard to say about Sweden and Italy) is not a member of the tempest program, but the program may well include French contractors, as they were in Eurofighter and how they are and in f-35

With today's technology, getting a viu-viu when shooting a laser in space is unrealistic. It takes decades, and maybe centuries of continuous work of the best minds of the empire.
