The British Royal Air Force will no longer receive the Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 multirole fighter. According to the British Ministry of Defense, the country's air force transferred the last aircraft of this model, assembled at the company BAE Systems.

British Air Force will no longer purchase Eurofighter Typhoon fighters

The British Air Force received the last Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 fighter, the ceremony of handing over the aircraft took place on September 27 at the British arms giant BAE Systems in Wharton. In total, from the 2003 year to the present, the Royal Air Force has received 160 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, the British Defense Ministry does not intend to acquire these aircraft more. At least, no statements of such intentions have yet been received.

It should be noted that the British Air Force is one of the largest customers of this fighter. In total, they ordered 232 Typhoon under three agreements: 55 aircraft - on the first and 89 - on the second. Under the third contract, London was supposed to receive 88 fighters, but the planes delivered to Saudi Arabia went into its offset, which allowed to reduce the order to 16 units. Thus, the British Air Force received 160 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, which are armed with eight units, four of which are deployed in Scotland, three in England and one more in the Falkland Islands.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine multi-role fighter of the 4 generation with a duck design and a triangular wing. Later modifications of this fighter belong to the generation of 4 + or 4 ++. Available in four versions: one option for each country included in the consortium (Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain). For the first time, Typhoon flew in the 1994 year, and was mass-produced in the 2003 year. Almost a dozen countries are in service, including Austria, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Germany, Saudi Arabia. Expected to ship to Qatar.

It’s more likely that she’s not strained with money, since she ordered two hundred F-35 (onethe competitors are not even MIG-21, as each of us knows, but all the same).

So they ordered 220 "typhoons", but then somehow it dried up to 160. And f - 35, where it will be more expensive, so I think 200 is not a very good joke. Moreover, there are problems both in the navy and in the ground forces.

The former empire, whose GDP is three times lower than the GDP of its former colony, can order "under two hundred f-35" only under very large hemorrhoids (percentages). By the former colony, I mean India. And Britain now is the "Cyprus" of the Anglo-Saxons, no more. Great Britain no longer exists for a long time, neither militarily, nor economically, nor MORALLY.
And by the way, to shave such an empire without any external pressure and internal betrayal - these are the EFFECTIVE MANAGERS out there, a hundred times more effective than ours !!!

80s, the "forerunner" was the British Aerospace EAP. Doesn't our "Sushki" smell like mothballs? After all, they also take their origin in the 70s. The platform is Su-27, and all the others (Su-30, Su-33, Su-34, Su-35) are based on it.

Well, of course, it smells like mothballs))) the first flight in 1994 and the beginning of operation since 2003))) The Su-30 first flight in 1989 and the beginning of operation since 1992, YF-22 FIRST FLIGHT Since 1990 and the beginning of operation since 2005, Eurofighter is modern AI fighter can deal with generation 4 fighters, on equal terms under certain conditions it can also fight with 4+ generation such as su-35

The F-35, by the way, is a long line. If you sign up for additional cars today, you will begin to receive the first of the order in 7-8 years.

7-8 years + 25 years in service = on this trough from the beginning of the 90s will fly until 2050? Do you put the FAC on the same level as the Air Force of some Burkina Faso?

That's right. The program until 2050.
By this time, the Americans according to the plan should have 2700 F-35
all options. And about 1500 more from other countries.
The F-16 program has been operating since 1978. Already released more
4600 aircraft. And the production is not over yet.

It is necessary to cajoise the suzerain and urgently buy the F-35, otherwise, good luck! Americans competently conduct politics in Europe, as I understand it, another 10-15 years and the EU will not have its own combat aircraft

Britain's Air Force elk is now catching up. The fall in the number of air forces from 600 aircraft in 1991 to about 250, and it’s not very clear what condition they are in now — this is strong. Moreover, all fighter-bomber fighters, ec, and the rest - multi-functional fighters (Tornado) and the first strike (F-35). What can be good for controlling space, but not for applying a CW in Argentina, for example, if she remembers again about the Falklands. Or to attack Iran wink

Right. "Also in decline." That somehow does not correlate with the phrase who is catching up with whom by the 5th generation ... In general, the question with the 5th generation of fighters in Europe is quite funny. Even for the cheaper 4th generation, the European market turned out to be too small. And at the same time, now there is a false project that Germany / France and at the same time Britain / Italy will be able to make the 5th generation, and even so that it will pay off. This is despite the fact that the F-22 did not pay off, the F-35 does not seem to pay off either, but they were made by the whole West - from Israel to the United States, and it seems that one dog comes out unprofitable ...

What can be good for space control, but not for applying a CAB
Eurofighter and f35 carry both a wide assortment of weapons that can hit on ground / surface targets, and they also have good chances for the survival of the swagger with good flight characteristics. From the point of view of the control system, the order is complete.
like Argentina ... or to attack Iran
All military aviation in Argentina now consists of the ancients, like traces of a mammoth, 8 attack aircraft "super-etendars." The state of the Iranian Air Force is not much better, however, they are at least trying to replenish their f-5 clones.
