The paratroopers will hold a tournament in military-applied sports in memory of the guard lieutenant colonel Anatoly Lebed
The competition, which received the name "Search-2012", paratroopers will dedicate to the memory of Hero of the Russian Federation Guards Lieutenant Colonel Anatoly Lebed.
Competitions will be held on the basis of the Pesochnoye training complex of the 98 Guards Airborne Division. More than 20 teams of patriotic airborne clubs from Vyatskiye Polyan, Dmitrov, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Noginsk, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Yaroslavl and other cities are planned to take part in them. In total, more than 150 children aged from 14 to 18 will take part in the competition.
The competition program for boys and girls included elements of special tactical disciplines specific to the Airborne Forces and special-purpose units. Such competitions as “search” (elements of raid actions), “reconnaissance path”, overcoming engineering obstacles, competitions for the best sniper pair, etc. promise to be entertaining.
In addition to working with the cadets of military-patriotic clubs, military units of the Airborne Forces take an active part
in the program of social adaptation of difficult teenagers.
So, since July 3, military patriotic camps have already been operating in units of the Tula and Novorossiysk airborne units, where strict army discipline is instilled in adolescents from dysfunctional families, and classes are being held to study military disciplines, including the airborne profile.
Guards Lieutenant Colonel Anatoly Lebed tragically killed 27 on April 2012 in a traffic accident in Moscow, before he reached his 49 birthday. For such a short way of life, Colonel Lebed managed to become a real legend of the special forces of the Airborne Forces.
