A video of a large-scale landing of an airborne regiment with weapons and equipment appeared on the Web. First time in stories The Russian army regiment carried out a full landing during the development of the scenario of the exercises "Center-2019".
As noted by the Ministry of Defense, during the exercises, two thousand paratroopers and more than 200 pieces of equipment were airborne. Landing was carried out with 71 military transport aircraft, taking off from airfields located in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, Ulyanovsk and Saratov regions and overcoming more than one and a half thousand kilometers to the area of release.
The military department emphasized that the landing of the entire regiment with equipment was carried out at speeds reaching 360 km / h and took less than 20 minutes. It was conducted at two parallel landing sites at the Donguz training ground in the Orenburg region, where the main stage of the Center-2019 exercises took place.
For the first time in full force, with full-time armament and military equipment, the personnel of the airborne parachute regiment of the Ivanovo airborne assault formation took part in the landing.
During the scenario, the airborne regiment, along with equipment, landed behind the back of a conditional enemy and set about fulfilling tasks, including capturing an enemy airfield and securing the offensive of the main forces.
