Baltic states again complained of Russia
It is gratifying to see that more and more readers from the Baltic States appear on the Russian website “Military Review”, but many of these people, unfortunately, once again confirm the fact that in the modern Baltic the Russophobic seed has found fertile soil and is already bearing fruit. Obviously, these people have become hostages of their own authorities, who in the last 20-25 years only do what they find an excuse for both their failures and those of their predecessors, exclusively in some phantom aggressive policy of Russia towards the Baltic states. Some kind of persecution by Russia, which the Baltic authorities are trying to extrapolate to the entire Baltic society. It is gratifying that not all citizens of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are ready to seize this bait, and still really appreciate the state of affairs in their states.
Well, for examples of state Russophobia, it is not necessary to go far. Not so long ago, the head of the Lithuanian Defense Ministry, Mrs. Rasa Juknevičienė, expressed the view that Russia is trying with a new force to dominate the world, energy and the media, as well as the quote, “is seeking to militarize our region”. In order not to attempt to “dominate” as a Russian mass media personally over Mrs. Yuknevičienė, we refer to her female logic and forgetfulness about the fact that in this very “their region” there is also a territorial entity like the Kaliningrad region, which, like , is an integral part of Russia. And if we are talking about someone's attempts to dominate the region, it’s about the attempts of the very same Lithuania, which continues to put obstacles to the citizens of Russia, who are moving from the Kaliningrad region, let's say, to big Russia and back. Moreover, the Lithuanian Minister of Defense for some reason does not mention that the NATO countries, which include Lithuania, are trying to point out with far greater attempts to dominate the Baltic.
In the first half of June, the Baltops-2012 exercises were held on the Baltic Sea. During these exercises, not only three Baltic states were involved, but also units of the American marines that arrived in the Baltic on the transport ship "2nd Lt John P. Bobo", German and Polish soldiers. And if participation in the exercises of the Polish and German sides can be left without discussion (after all, these countries have access to the Baltic Sea), then the presence of thousands of American marines at Baltops can be weakly argued, unless you use the terminology of Rasa Juknevičienė - an attempt militarize our region. " Although there is another justification for the emergence of American units in the Baltic States: apparently, the United States of America got the same exit to the Baltic Sea, since both Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have long signed their readiness to be the de facto overseas American colonies.
A couple of days before the start of the Baltops-2012 exercise, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian servicemen took part in the training operation Baltic Region Training Event XII. Here, NATO generals taught the Balts how to properly fly their planes. Apparently, they were taught not without regard to the large eastern neighbor, therefore they used such terms as a strategic offensive operation of NATO. And if these exercises were not directed against Russia, then it becomes completely incomprehensible why they were needed precisely on the territory of the Baltic states and on whom Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania "strategically attacked" - really not on the Finns, who, as they say, neither by sleep nor in spirit ...
Apparently, the end of spring - the beginning of summer for the Baltic rulers was the time of the peak of exacerbation of Russophobia, therefore several more exercises were conducted. For example, the exercises “Open Spirit 2012” and “Baltic Fortress 2012”, during which military vessels of three Baltic States took part; Saber Strike with the involvement of American (where to go without them), British, Canadian and, remarkably, Finnish forces. It turns out that the teachings are not against the Finns either. It turns out that the Balts are going to "strategically attack" someone else if anything happens. That's a mystery - who? ..
By the way, Ms. Juknevičienė expressed her words about the “militarization of our region by Russia” at a recent seminar in the Lithuanian capital of the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Alliance. The discussion at this seminar was exclusively about the Eastern partners (well, and about whom the Balts can talk if not about the Eastern “partners”). During this seminar, the head of the Lithuanian host delegation stated that it was time to finish the creation of Europe. Like, we were accepted - and that's enough. It is time to close the door to the big Baltic castle.
Further, she even allowed herself to say that cooperation with Russia would be an ideal option for Europe, but then, apparently, she realized that such words do not fit into the once chosen Russophobic course, and continued in the usual Baltic manner. They say that cooperation with Russia is a utopia. And it was here that she uttered her catch phrase about the attempts of the Russian Federation to “militarize our region”. However, Ms. Yuknevičienė still needs to be reminded that this region is yours as well as ours, and therefore Russia has every right to take such actions as it wishes. And even more so, Moscow will not ask Vilnius for its official permission, especially since Vilnius itself (like Riga and Tallinn) does not have any own weighty word, but only does that it looks back towards its Big Brother.
It is noteworthy that even the deputies of the European Parliament from the Baltic states receive advice from US senators on how to act in relation to Russia. For example, MEP Christine Ojuland (from Estonia) as recently as a week ago complained to John McCain that Russia is making attempts to increase its influence in the Baltic countries. And John McCain naturally attended to the "aggressive policy of Russia." His job is to be forever preoccupied with the state of our country.
This specific complaint about Russia clearly traces the whole essence of the Baltic authorities: to lean more against Moscow criticism and, accordingly, to receive more praise from across the ocean, and maybe not only praise ... Russophobia is apparently a profitable business ...
