During the offensive operation, the Syrian army was able to seize strategically important territories in the north of Latakia province, defeating large militant forces. The 42-I brigade of the 4-th division of the SAA took control of the territory near the city of Kabani.
In particular, the most important Tsuvaykat altitude came under the control of the Syrian troops, which gives the SAA a complete advantage over the militants within a radius of several tens of kilometers.
After capturing the aforementioned height, the 42 I brigade of the Syrian government army began an operation to liberate the city of Kabani from terrorists. At the moment, the CAA is on the outskirts of the village. At the same time, the militants use their usual tactics: they equip firing points and concentrate in residential areas of the city in order to be able to accuse the SAA of "shelling of the civilian population."
In the city of Kabani, militants of two terrorist groups banned in the Russian Federation are concentrated. This is “Khayyat Tahrir al-Sham” (formerly “Jebhat al-Nusra”) and the so-called “Islamic Party of Turkestan”. In the latter, there are many immigrants from Central Asia and the northeast of the People’s Republic of China.
Recall that the SAA a few days ago reported that they were leaving the truce, since the Syrian army was constantly bombarded by militants in Latakia, Idlib and Hama.
