В stories Starting from the time of Peter the Great to the present day, the Armed Forces of Russia were given the title of “Guards Unit” only to the best units, the most prepared, dedicated to their work, who can be relied upon in difficult times and capable of performing any task.
Such a Guards unit, considered one of the best in our army, for many decades has been the Vienna Order of the Great Patriotic War, II degree 56 of the assault regiment (brigade). It was this DShP (DSB) and his fighters who became the main characters of the documentary film by Alexander Sladkov.
During the years of World War II, the regiment became famous for the fact that 14 on April 1945 of the year in honor of the liberation of the city of Vienna Guards Senior Lieutenant Stomakhin raised the Victory Banner with a five-pointed star and a sickle and hammer with an aerostat to the height of 500 meters. On account of this legendary Guards unit hundreds of military operations, participation in campaigns and battles during the Great Patriotic War, and the Afghan and Chechen wars, where they selflessly performed their military duty.
The film tells about three generations of guardsmen of the famous regiment, who in different periods of service faithfully followed the motto “Nobody but us!”
