China announced the completion of the assembly of the rover and readiness to explore Mars
According to the publication, the planned Martian mission will be the second for China: in 2011, the first Chinese Martian probe was launched into space with the Russian station Phobos-Grunt, but both vehicles were lost due to the on-board computer failure. This time in Beijing they hope that everything will go smoothly.
The second mission will include an orbital probe, a landing platform and the rover itself. The dispatch of the mission is tentatively scheduled for 23 next July. According to calculations, the devices will go into orbit in February 2021 of the year, after which they will land on the surface of the planet, which the platform will carry out with the rover located on it, while the orbital probe will remain in orbit and carry out its program throughout the year. It is planned that the rover will carry out a program to explore Mars during 92 days, at a minimum. The main topic is the study of the chemical composition of the soil, as well as its distribution. On the rover installed radar capable of collecting information about the soil at a depth of one hundred meters.
As conceived by the Chinese designers, the rover with a mass of 240 kg will receive energy exclusively using solar panels, without using a thermoelectric generator. This method is less reliable, as the device is vulnerable to dust storms.
Also, plans to explore Mars said in NASA, the flight of the rover is scheduled for July-August next year. Also, the European Space Agency ESA will launch its rover in 2020 year. The landing platform for it was created by Roscosmos, which had already delivered it to Turin for the final assembly.
