Black Sea Patrol Ship fleet Project 22160 "Vasily Bykov" will replenish the permanent group of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean. The ship left the main base of the Black Sea Fleet on the morning of June 10 and headed for the Black Sea straits. Together with the corvette, the Veliky Ustyug MRC from the Caspian Flotilla set off to the Mediterranean Sea.
According to the press service of the Black Sea Fleet, the patrol ship "Vasily Bykov" will make the transition to the Mediterranean Sea, where it will become part of the permanent compound of the Russian Navy. In the future, the ship will go to the Baltic, where it will participate in the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg. It is noted that this exit of the ship is the first long-distance campaign since its entry into the fleet.
The lead patrol ship of the 22160 project "Vasily Bykov" was built at the AO "Zelenodolsk Plant named after AM Gorky" and launched on August 28 2017 of the year. In November of the same year he was towed to Kerch for completion. He joined the Navy 20 December 2018 of the year. In total, the Ministry of Defense ordered the construction of a series of five patrol ships of the 22160 project, but their construction was delayed due to the import substitution of the power plant. All ships of the series, except for the head "Vasily Bykov", on which the German diesel-gear units MAN are installed, install diesel-gear units produced by the Kolomna plant.
The patrol ship (corvette) of the 22160 project has a displacement of 1700 tons and is capable of speeds up to 30 nodes. Navigation range - 6000 miles, autonomy - 60 day. Crew - 80 man. On board the basing of the Ka-27PS helicopter is provided. As a standard weapon, corvettes equip 76-mm with artillery, anti-aircraft missile systems and machine guns.
The Corvette "Vasily Bykov" of the 22160 project is part of the 184 brigade of the ships of the Novorossiysk naval base.
