Nord Stream 2 allows the transfer of the completion of the construction of the "SP-2"

61
The construction of Nord Stream-2 can be delayed and be completed in the second half of 2020, if Denmark only approves the project by the end of this year. This is reported by RIA News with reference to the Nord Stream 2 report to the application for the third route option.

Nord Stream 2 allows the transfer of the completion of the construction of the "SP-2"

According to the report, the completion of the construction of the “SP-2” can be postponed to the second half of next year during the implementation of the project on the third option of the gas pipeline route, if Denmark agrees to the project closer to the end of the current year.

At the moment, Denmark remains the last state that does not give permission for the construction of a gas pipeline, although it already had two pipelines already sent to it. The third variant of the route, involving the laying of a gas pipeline south-east of Bornholm, passing through the exclusive economic zone of Denmark, construction operator Nord Stream 2 AG filed 15 on April of this year, public hearings on it in Denmark are scheduled for June 19.

Thus, the construction operator has already filed three applications for the construction of a gas pipeline: along the main route in the country's territorial waters to the south of Bornholm, an alternative in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark north-west of Bornholm and southeast of Bornholm also in the exclusive economic zone.

If Denmark receives any of the above routes in the near future, the construction of the Nord Stream-2 can be completed by the end of this year, since all permits from Germany, Sweden, Finland and Russia have long been received.

Meanwhile, while Gazprom resolves issues with the laying of a gas pipeline, the Ukraine has once again begun to lament about Russia's refusal from the Ukrainian gas transportation system.

According to the head of Naftogaz, Andrei Kobolev, Russia may suspend the use of the Ukrainian gas transport system for supplying fuel to Europe next year, even if SP-2 is not completed on time. This is allegedly shown by Gazprom’s active buildup of fuel reserves in Europe.

Of course, Kobolev did not forget to remind that in this case Kiev will lose three billion dollars in annual revenue, which is about three percent of the country's GDP. However, he did not voice exactly what amount of this money reaches the state treasury, and does not sink into the pockets of officials.

The task of the Americans is to cut off Europe from Russian gas. Therefore, the gas transportation system of Ukraine is also fast.
And Germany understands this better than anyone, and therefore it is fighting for the joint venture 2.

That's it, if the contract is long-term, then it will have to be fulfilled, and this is what the Ukrainians need. And the volumes will be what Europe needs and Russia will continue to feed Ukrainians, and this SP-2 will be just a reserve branch. Ukrainians and Americans through Denmark once again bend Russia. And Ukrainians in volume will dictate their terms and Russia will be forced to accept them since there is no alternative SP-2 is not ready.

If you receive approval from Denmark any of the above routes in the near future

And if Denmark does not give any permission? There now, the "greens" are in full control and they insist on the complete ban of "SP-2" as carrying a "threat" to the "eco-balance" of the Baltic Sea. Everything goes to the fact that Denmark will not give any permission, and then what? In addition, Denmark can endlessly order "examinations" such as "studying the effect of SP-2 on herring fish", then "studying the effect of SP-2 on the Baltic seal", etc., endlessly delaying construction, and the "consortium" cannot contain an idle "pipelayer ".... It means that Denmark will have to either" push "or give her some nishyachka, which she cannot refuse. Only Germany can put pressure, but .... The EU has already voiced approximate plans of what this" nishtyachok "can be: 1-Russia recognizes itself guilty of shooting down the Boeing with the payment of compensation to all injured relatives, 2-Russia pleads guilty to the occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine and helps to establish Ukrainian jurisdiction in these territories, plus pays Ukraine repar actions for "losses", 3-Russia is obliged to release all Ukrainian "prisoners of war" and demilitarize the Sea of Azov, ensuring the "free" use of it by the Ukrainians, 4-Russia must demilitarize the Crimean peninsula and must develop a "roadmap" for the return of this peninsula to Ukraine with payment reparations to Ukraine, for the losses incurred, 5-Russia undertakes to pump through the Ukrainian GTS volumes no less than those at the peak of transportation, through it, 6-Russia assumes the costs of maintaining the Ukrainian GTS, etc. and then, they say, the EU will think about so as not to consider Russian gas transportation contracts as "posing a threat" to the economic security of the European Union.

We bought pipes for South Stream. The loss was on their excess transportation and storage. The pipes themselves were later used. But they taught Bulgaria well. Bulgaria has lost a lot of money and will continue to lose.
Denmark will lose no less. Not only Russia - Europe will find how to recover from Denmark. Because otherwise Europe will have to buy expensive American LNG. Gazprom did not promise to supply gas through Ukraine in 2020, and sent letters to consumers in Europe that there would be no deliveries on this route from 2020. Therefore, Europe is stuffing its underground gas storage facilities. There is also LNG and gas carriers in Russia, only in Russia, most likely, all this gas has been contracted. And the United States has it - the Americans were kicked out of the Chinese gas market.

Through Danish waters, Nord Stream 2 AG developed the 3 route:

    1. Primary (highest priority) - in the same corridor as SP-1, next to it (black color on the map). Denmark hasn’t been giving him permission since 2017 because of a territorial dispute with Poland.
    2. Northwestern (gray color is an alternative route). Nord Stream 2 AG in August 2018 of the year applied for this option outside the territorial waters of Denmark.
    3. Southeastern (green color is an alternative route, divided into 2 options, B1 and B2, gaskets in Danish waters). Following the resolution of the 40-year territorial dispute between Denmark and Poland at the end of the 2018 year, Nord Stream 2 AG decided to develop this alternative route.

The schedule of the JV-2 project is as follows:

    Construction work and status
Construction work in Danish territorial waters includes pipe laying and work on the seabed. The expected duration of the two pipelines is approximately 115 days when choosing a combination of the proposed route SP-2 with B1 and approximately 125 days for the route option SP-2 with B2. The work will be carried out in sequential order, with the laying of each of the threads in turn. Construction is scheduled to begin at the beginning of the 2020 year, but during the development of the project, the timing can be changed.

The infographic shows that the end of construction and commissioning of the SP-2 is planned for the middle of the 2020 year.

Yes, in general, everything is not difficult to understand. Under Danish law, authorities are required to ensure public participation in environmental decisions. These meetings, presentations to the public drag on for many months. Then, in Denmark, an application for the main route of the Nord Stream - 2 pipeline is evaluated. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since a permit for the construction of a pipeline in the territorial waters of Denmark can only be issued if this activity complies with national interests in the field of foreign policy, security and defense... The United States really does not want the implementation of the SP-2, so they "convinced" the Danes that the gas pipeline does not correspond to their national interests and security. And for the sake of persuasiveness, their destroyer "Gravely" and the British frigate "Westminster" are being driven hard across the Baltic Sea along the route of the pipelayers SP-2. For illustration, the positions of ships and vessels:

PIONEERING SPIRIT - now laying a pipe in the Swedish sector,
SOLITAIRE - now laying a pipe in the Russian sector,
between them the NATO ships destroyer Gravely and the frigate Westminster.
"The dog barks, the caravan moves on" - SP-2 is under construction!

It’s true that this post is about the main route. It takes place in the territorial waters of Denmark, and the Foreign Ministry does not give permission to it. Regarding the two alternative ones, which are outside Danish water. Ecology is the main requirement, but it also takes into account socio-economic (safety of navigation, fishing in the area, marine spatial planning, military training areas) and technical requirements (scale of work on the seabed) - this is rather important for Nord Stream 2 AG itself. In any case, on any of the two alternative routes, subject to all conditions, the Danes are required to give permission. After the main route for Nord Stream 2 AG, the alternative Southeast is also acceptable, (the northwest version of 3 is on the list, reserve). For several months, Denmark will host public discussions on the report submitted by the DEA 15 this May along the S-V route. The deadline for obtaining permits for the project implementation schedule is the end of the 2019 year. The start of pipe laying in Danish waters on schedule is the beginning of the 2020 year.

Public hearings will be held, yes 19 June, and then quote:
... The public, authorities and non-governmental organizations of Denmark can send comments and questions regarding the EIA documentation to the DEA before July 10. For consultations on transboundary impacts under the Espoo Convention, this period will extend to July 17.

Already two months, well, let’s improve a couple of months, then they will have nowhere to go.

well let a couple more months

If we take the north-western route - "The length of the optimal route for which we applied for in April 2017 is 139 kilometers. The length of the alternative route for which we applied today is 175 kilometers" - 175 km, if the pipelayer is 5 km per day then 35 days + 2,5 months for preparation (SP-1 - Welding of the last joint of the first string on August 19. Launch of the first string on November 8). Let it be 4 months, so that if there is no permission by the beginning of September, then you can accept that this year they may not be in time. Wait and see....

As an agreement with 404 to end, you need to cut off the gas before the construction of this pipeline and they themselves run in.

And further. In addition to my post above. A very interesting situevina is planned for the 2020 year, and not even in connection with Ukrainian transit, but with the start of construction (if construction starts at all) of the Baltic Pipe - a gas pipeline between Denmark and Poland, which is planned as a branch from the Norwegian gas transmission system to North Sea.
So, the start of construction is planned at the beginning of the 2020 year, the deadline for putting into operation in the 2022 year is when the PGNiG contract with Gazprom for gas supplies to Poland ends. The trick is that the Baltic Pipe will cross the still unfinished JV-2, but also the existing JV-1.

Permission to the Poles (Danes) will have to be obtained from Gazprom (count Russia). No, we cannot prohibit, pipeline crossings are regulated by international rules. But to tighten the building permit and drink blood, it is quite possible. Already the Poles themselves talk about it,
Polityka Insight analyst Robert Tomashevsky: "... although this is a technical discussion, Gazprom may postpone the project or make the whole process take longer"

In any case, Ukraine is threatened with a crisis, in the financial sphere. And someone has to pay, so the sponsors of the "mess" are fussing, and the customer is the most!
