31 July 1943, the legendary corps, before the August offensive and the stubborn battles on the Belgorod-Kharkov flank of the Kursk Bulge, were solemnly presented with the Guards Banner. At the presentation of the banner all the personnel of the corps took the honorary Guards Oath.
In April, 1944 was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for the heroic spirit and courage that the composition showed during the liberation of the Ukrainian cities - Shepetivka, Tarnopol and Zbarazh - the corps was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, and 17 of the individual battalions and regiments that make up the corps received honorary names - “Zhytomyr "," Shepetovsky "," Tarnopolsky "," Yampolsky. The 17 Guards Tank Corps was one of the first to reach the Elbe, taking part in the capture of Dresden. The illustrious corps ended its combat path on the outskirts of Prague by completing a rapid dash to Czechoslovakia.

The Great Patriotic War has long been over, but the division is still in the ranks. Nowadays, the military personnel of this compound have already managed to take part in many peacekeeping operations, including South Ossetia, Kosovo (1998-2002), as well as in operations in the North Caucasus.
In Moscow, in honor of the division, one of the streets and the metro station bear the name "Kantemirovskaya", thus to this day glorifying the feats of arms of this legendary compound of the times of the Great Patriotic War.
