The President of Kazakhstan commented on the transition to writing in Latin

313
The President of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, commented on the transition of the Kazakh script to the Latin alphabet. According to him, the transition process will take place in stages.

Tokayev said that most of the neighboring countries chose the Latin schedule, and in order to keep up with the dictates of the times, Kazakhstan does the same. About 90% of all information in the world is published in Latin, thus, the transition will contribute to the development of technology and science. He also called this initiative one of the main stages of the spiritual modernization of the country.

Tokayev stressed that at the moment a number of public organizations in Kazakhstan are already using the Latin script in their work. One of these organizations is the republican newspaper “Egemen Kazakhstan”, in which already one of the pages is published in Latin.

The transition of the Kazakh language to the Latin script will be carried out in stages. There is a well-defined schedule. And we will not retreat from it. But public opinion, benefits and omissions will also be taken into account when applying the alphabet.

- noted the head of Kazakhstan.

Recall that in the autumn of 2017 of the year, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the former president of Kazakhstan, signed a decree translating the Kazakh alphabet to the Latin script before the 2025 of the year. At the same time, a new alphabet was approved, consisting of 32 letters, in which 9 letters were with apostrophes. However, this decision was later criticized by Kazakhstani linguists, since this could make it difficult to write and read, as well as search the Internet. Therefore, in February last year, a new alphabet of 32 letters was approved, but without apostrophes.

We would go straight to English, because most of the countries speak it. Tokayev demonstrates the psychology of savages who adopt everything "progressive" from the colonialists. In his eyes, the Cyrillic alphabet is no longer progressive enough and does not contribute to the development of technology. I wonder where this monkey was dug up?

I hope MGIMO is burning with shame for a graduate. It is unlikely that they teach that Cyrillic does not allow for the development of technology, as the Latin does. This figure was picked up by this figure clearly in another place.

Ukrainians and the Baltic states prohibit the Russian language. These go from the Cyrillic alphabet.
The essence is the same - to create a new history in which these "states" supposedly existed for centuries.
The inhabitants of these countries will believe in this nonsense. The knowledge of the Russian language and the ability of the population to read books in Russian and listen to the Russian media interfere with this "history".

And the dependence of technology on language is more like a doctor.

Plus, because the statement is completely fair. Nondonations (those nations that have not yet taken place or will never take place at all) do just that - they smear their faces with whitewash, dress like "white people", drink whiskey like "white people", in everything they act like a "superior race" ... and they do not understand why they are considered second-class people ... everything is simple - there is no national memory in them, they do not remember traditions, they do not feel gratitude for what their ancestors created, they do not have that which cements the nation and makes it united .. one word - savages.

At first, the language would certainly be changed to "Latin", if I don't like Russian. In their language there is no separation of "he", "she", "it" - one word.

Dear, if you have difficulties with the Ukrainian language, then you should not aggravate them with your ignorance, because the whole sense of humor that you wanted to show is lost. And to increase your horizons in this matter and to make it funnier, the command: "Machine gun on the chest" is translated into Ukrainian with a certain sense of humor, as "Zalizyaku on puzyaka - gop!" And the command "to attention" is interpreted as "string", and your "string" is the dative case of the word "string, string".

In turn, I suggest that you continue to write comments as follows - in Russian, but in Latin letters and without the help of transliteration.
As I understand it, everything has been put in order in Kazakhstan, it remains only to replace the Cyrillic alphabet. Well, that means it will not be difficult for you. This is elementary.
But then, how glamorous it will be written - this is Latin! The whole forum will envy you!

And how much do you plan to read in the Kazakh language, only in Latin? I wonder where do you get these books? Or do you have the same endless euphoria from an endless mustakillik?

    from the site https://www.nur.kz/1661560-kazakhskiy-alfavit-istoriya.html
From the 29th century until the beginning of the XNUMXth century, the Arabic alphabet was officially operating in Kazakhstan. It had XNUMX letters and the sign “hamza”, which denoted narrow vowels. The letters of the Arabic alphabet were made in the Persian style. Words were written from right to left.
In 1924, it was corrected in accordance with the peculiarities of Kazakh phonetics, and in 1929 it was replaced by the Latin alphabet - Yanalif.
This transition was accompanied by heated debate. The issue of replacing Arabic letters with Latin letters was resolved over 3 years - from 1924 to 1927. A real scientific battle broke out between the Arabists and the Latinists, not much different from today's disputes. Its essence was to understand whether Latin letters can convey the features of the Kazakh language.
Arab graphics supported Akhmet Baitursynov. He was the author of the scientifically based Arabic alphabet of the Kazakh language - "tөte jazu". This alphabet is still used by Kazakhs who migrated abroad, mainly to China.
Speaking against the abolition of the Arab drawing system, Akhmet Baitursynov put forward the following arguments:
Latin letters are less suitable for conveying the features of Kazakh phonetics. Out of 26 letters, only 15 can be applied without changes and 7 with variations. And the Kazakh alphabet of 1924 used 24 characters of the Arab system (19 unchanged, and 5 corrected).
Kazakh fonts based on the Latin alphabet, prepared for the manufacture of printed products, had to be changed by a third.
The Latinists expressed their arguments in this discussion. Their mastermind, Kazakh linguist Telzhan Shonanov, cited his arguments against the Arabic script:
Diacritics (signs indicating that the sound is read differently than without it) complicated the study of the alphabet.
The difference in the type of letters depending on their location in the word.
Fuzzy outlines of signs, which complicated reading.
The inability to use the Arabic alphabet for special texts: notes, scientific papers, where there are formulas, etc.
The main evidence of the irrelevance of the Arab system for the Kazakh language was that it incompletely conveyed the phonetic originality and complicated the work of typesetters.
Obviously, the purely practical argument of this dispute forced the leaders of the republic to stop it. Latin begins its difficult path of formation in Kazakhstan. To unify the Latin system for the national language, a special committee was created. In 1928, the Kazakh alphabet in Latin was approved at the conference. It consisted of 29 letters.
In the early 1930s. the Soviet government put forward the idea of universal "cyrillization" of the written language of the state. Kazakh letters are undergoing yet another transformation. Cyrillic alphabet created almost 10 years.
In 1940, the option proposed by Sarsen Amanzholov was approved. It had 41 letters: 32 letters accepted in the Russian letter, and 9 special characters that conveyed the originality of the Kazakh language.
So the question is not new.

Interesting terminology: "territory of Kazakhstan" ???, But nothing, so the very name "KazaKhstan" appeared on the world map only in 1936, before that they used the term "Kazakstan", and in English they still write "Kazakhstan" - seems to be similar to the concept of "Cossack camp of the Semirechensky Cossack army". After all, the former capital of Alma-Ata was previously called Semirechensk. Have you thought of changing the spelling in Latin in English yet?

Moreover, in general, this settlement among the Cossacks was called a camp, here it was rightly noticed that one of the famous names of the city is already the city of "Verny", I also came across this. In the literature of the XNUMXth century, the term "Semirechensk" was also used, I cannot say for sure for the correctness of the names, because I did not live there at that time. Let the specialists do this. It is only known that the name of the pemen and the areas where they lived changes very, very often. The only question is this and it is desirable to have accurate knowledge on this issue, this is important enough and can resolve many other issues, including peace issues.

Yes, in those days, "official" names have not yet been invented. Often, and until now, different names are used, just in different languages and in different countries, and it happens that in one country they speak differently. I myself write only what I saw in various publications at different times of publication, hence the frequent misunderstanding of people on the same issue. I’m grieving you, Kazakhami. It was already decided by the Soviets to call the Cossacks in 1936, and it was then that a decree was issued calling on the Russian Cossacks to serve. It becomes clear that this is done on purpose, so that there is no confusion:
                        "5th All-Kazakh Congress of Soviets
                        DECISION
from 19 April to 1925 year
ABOUT RESTORATION OF THE NAME OF “KAZAKH” FOR THE KYRGYZ NATIONALITY.
To restore the historically correct name of the Kyrgyz people, the 5th All-Kazakh Congress of Soviets decides:
henceforth, to call the Kyrgyz - Cossacks.
                        5th All-Kazakh Congress of Soviets.
                        19 April 1925 city
                        Kyzyl-Orda city "

Well, the fact that the Kazakhs under the Rurikovich was called precisely the Cossacks, there is evidence:
"Kazatsky Kasym tsar" - so, in Russian archival documents the term "tsar" is used in relation to the Kazakh khans of Kasym, Hakk-Nazar, Tauekel, Yesim and others. For example, in the inventory of the Tsar's archive of the XVI century there is an entry:
"Box 38. And in it are Cossack books and lists under Kasym Tsar ...". In a letter from the ruler of the Nogai Horde, Seyid Ahmad Mirza, to Ivan Vasilyevich (May 1535), there is the following message: "The Cossack tsar, Host Mahmet, the tsar with fiveteen sons lives with us ...". The Kazakh khan of the second half of the XNUMXth century, Hakk-Nazar, appears in the archival documents of the diplomatic relations of the Moscow state as "the Cossack Horde Aknazar (Oknazar) Tsar".
The Russian Tsar Fyodor Ivanovich, in his letter in 1595, addressed the ruler of the Kazakh Khanate Tauekel: "The Cossack Horde Tevkel Tsar". In the formal letter of the Ufa governor O. Pronchishchev (1620), "tsar" is again pronounced:
"... the great tightness from the Cossack Hordes from the Ishim of the tsar pervaded the Kolmtsim taichs ..."
“And between the Akbashly Lake and the Sauk River and the Akkol Lake and on both sides of the Kenderlik River and the Sarsu River and Karakum Sands, in those places, at 600 miles, the Cossack Hordes wandered. And between the Khvalinsky (Caspian) Sea and Astrakhan, the Cossack Hordes are nomadic and from the top of the Yaik to the Volga the nomadic Big Bolt ”.

On the one hand, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, stating that "About 90% of all information in the world is published in the Latin alphabet, thus the transition will contribute to the development of technology and science." demonstrated blatant ignorance in this matter. On the other hand, the massive transition of the post-Soviet republics from the Cyrillic to the Latin alphabet indicates the weakness of Russia. Economic, social, industrial, political ... in general, any and every weakness. Nuclear club, and the army as a whole are not indicators. What kind of army is there and in general what kind of metal "Faberge" is - it will become clear in Armageddon, after which, as it were, everything cuts to a light. But until Armageddon, all not very strong cling closer to the strongest. You shouldn't blame the weak for that - it's normal when Tabaki holds on to Sher Khan. I would not like to offend the Kazakhs with this comparison, I have good feelings for them left from my military service in the SA - normal people, but in fact they are.

External resemblance - both we are weak, and our "former". And we have a copy of someone else's lifestyle, and others. The behavior of regional "small" peoples - idio-adaptation - adaptation to environmental conditions, this is their norm. For our people, the same behavior, as we already see, is destructive. We are a continental people, we have another way to overcome our weaknesses - aromorphosis (according to A.N.Severtsev) - evolutionary change, as a result of which the living rises to a fundamentally new, more progressive stage of development, the complexity of organization and functions - we need national creativity. Therefore, the current conservation of liberalism in Russia is an obstacle to our prospects.

So confidently assert that we did not have a written language, well, at least poke around in the directories, or look at the people of Kazakhstan on Wikipedia .... I’m ashamed of such neighbors.
Before the Cyrillic alphabet, we used the Latin alphabet until 1940 ... well, read the wiki clipping

Kazakhs, like all Turkic peoples, are the heirs of the runic writing that existed in the VIII-X centuries and is known in science as the Orkhon-Yenisei. The runic alphabet consisted of 24 letters and a word mark. As Islam spread and strengthened, the beginning of the 1929th century The Arabic alphabet is becoming more widespread. Of course, he was significantly changed and adapted to the norms of Turkic speech. Kazakhs living in China still continue to use the Kazakh script reformed by Akhmet Baitursynov (“Zhana emele”) based on Arabic graphics. In the Soviet period, in Kazakhstan, for political purposes, the Kazakh alphabet was translated into Latin script (Latinization, 1940), and then another translation was already made into Cyrillic (Cyrillization, 1940). The modern Kazakh language, since 42, uses the Cyrillic graphic system. The Kazakh alphabet contains 2012 letters and is based on the Cyrillic alphabet. In 2025, it became known about the decision on the phased translation of the Kazakh language in Kazakhstan into the Latin alphabet. The start of the Latin translation process is scheduled for XNUMX

Do you have some kind of papa or something? Do you see diggers everywhere? Read the story "Cossacks" by Tolstoy. There he directly says that the Cossacks among themselves and in their families speak the Tatar language, i.e. in Turkic. They boast about Tatar customs and weapons ... But this is the 19th century! It took 100 years and the Cossacks became Russified. This is exactly the same as the Kazakhs in the Russian Federation - they no longer know their language, they are completely Russified ... Cossacks - an estate in tsarist Russia - it was from them that you took your name, and before that you were ordinary Kirghiz.

Cossacks - in the beginning were the Horde. Warriors of the Nogai Murz and Beklarbek Mamaia. Neither the first nor the second were Genghisids, and could not claim legal authority in the Horde. And I wanted to steer. So this estate appeared. Although the Cossacks in the Barrens have always been. Since the time of the Turkic Kaganate.
And then, after the weakening and further collapse of the Horde, the Cossacks began to be used as mercenaries by Russian princes and governors.

To begin with, no matter what the child doesn’t amuse, if only he does not cry. The topic of exclusion is at the beginning of the Russian language and now, as a consequence, the transition to the Latin alphabet. some time ago, on this issue, a deputy from the Stanov asked a question, dear how much special literature is published in our Stan in the national language, and how many in Russian and other foreign, there is practically no such literature correctly, well, there is no special terminology in the national Stan, It turned out that the national language is, by and large, household, now the alphabet is changing and complete emptiness. For what to deal with solving vital issues, we will put all our efforts into a global transition to the Latin alphabet.

The transition of the Kazakh language to the Latin alphabet does not affect the cultural and linguistic interests of people who are native speakers of the Russian language. The Russian language will not suffer in any way from changes in the Kazakh alphabet. And Russian-speakers in Kazakhstan didn’t really learn Kazakh in Cyrillic, so worries about the Latin alphabet are not appropriate.

And we don’t need to get out of it. Whatever they wanted, they annexed - Crimea; whatever they didn’t want, they didn’t annex.

Mother Russia has no allies, just like Kazakhstan, but we must be good neighbors! And you don’t need to pay attention to the freaks, let them grumble.

Agree. If only it weren't China. They have been licking their lips at Kazakhstan for a long time... Although they also look greedily at the Far East...
In general, I personally feel sorry that Russians are leaving Kazakhstan. Good engineers, financiers, doctors, and simply specialists. And just people. Sad. Many of my friends left for Russia and Germany. But in spirit they are still here... and they come often.
I really have nothing to share with them. And I respect and love them not because of their nationality and other things... But as normal and decent people... And what does the Latin alphabet have to do with it...

The question itself is posed incorrectly. There was a war - there were allies. There will be new confrontations - there will be new allies. Allies are not something abstract - just like that.

Oh God, link to YouTube, how we will miss this when Russia is cut off from the Internet.
Actually, it’s clear where your “knowledge” comes from, YouTube and Wikipedia are your everything.
Russia was initially a multinational state and the Turks participated in our history like other nations, but the Kazakhs could not give us anything physically; until the 20th century, the Kazakhs simply did not exist.
And if all Kazakhs are Turks, then not all Turks are Kazakhs.

Why is your fart so loud? Calm down and breathe deeply. Leave your fascist ways, other nations are people too, Kyrgyz, Tajiks, Uzbeks and Caucasians - we welcome everyone, except such Russophobes as some “non-brothers” and “non-sisters”.
